The space was decorated with beautiful unique art work and very cool funky furniture. The Church located adjacent to our space was beautiful and very welcoming. I felt like I had everything I needed from cooking to laundry. We will definitely stay there again.
We stayed here to see Boston and Salem for Halloween/ a delayed honeymoon trip. The property was beautiful and the host was very kind and accommodating! We loved the welcome packet with local recommendations and information about the host and his very interesting work with The Church. Highly recommend staying here!
The description was definitely accurate...except for the step up to the toilet & tub. We arrived at night so it was quite hard to figure out where to park, however it was well lit up to the door. Our overall experience was a pleasant one and we loved the bohemian flair!
This location was perfect for a base camp to explore New England. We left early each day , visited Salem, Brattleboro, Rockport, Portsmouth, and Portland. Then returned each evening to engage in the most amazing discussions with host Rev. Richard Emmanual. If you do not take the time to meet him , you are truely missing out. Enjoy life's walkabout.
What a splendid spot! Very quirky little place approximately equidistant from downtown and beaches. We slept well, loved looking at the various bits of art scattered around the place, and enjoyed the actual drip coffeemaker! (Death to all Keurig machines!) Thanks for a great stay.
Beautiful property, very peaceful.
Everything was prefect! The proprietor, Richard, was so sweet, kind and welcoming. I look forward to coming back again some time, Thank you Richard.
Check-in was a little bumpy but we got everything figured out. The space itself is in an easy location and quite convenient if you're visiting Salem, gives you a chance to get away from the madness. It was pretty quiet besides the main road out front could be a bit noisy but nothing that bad and the neighbor next door is quite talkative lol the place was cozy, lots of detail and unique art. I do think it needs a good dusting (the fan, and knick knacks were pretty dusty)but everything else like surfaces, bedding and carpets were good and clean. It got a bit stuffy at night, heat wise but we just opened the door and turned on the fan. I think a little bit softer, comfortable bedding, a good dusting and a little better communication on checking in would make this a 5 star property. We enjoyed our stay and would def stay again.
You can't go wrong when choosing this location. It was clean and in a great location. The furnishings and décor were beautiful and unique. The tub with handheld shower took some getting used to, but it was a nice change and only added to the experience of the house. The notes left by the owner and cleaning staff were nice and made for a smooth check-in and checkout. Communication with Richard was great (we were running late on arrival). We especially enjoyed the list of activities and eateries that was provided. Overall, I would recommend this location to everyone visiting Essex County because it's close to so many things (beaches, regional attractions, Salem, etc.) and adds variety to your adventure in the area.
Taxi rides are $4 to Any restaurant so you can park and not have to restive into “town” would definitely stay again
Just as advertised. A quiet, funky retreat. Eye candy all around. Whale watching, beaches, museums & castles close enough to fill your week. Enjoyed!
