Detroit, Michigan
Location, location, location. This bohemian chic space is the 1600 sq ft lower half of a 2 story duplex in the heart of the Corktown Historic District. This space has everything you need for a short or long stay on what is arguably one of the safest streets in the city, walking distance to a plethora of bars and restaurants and a 5 min rideshare to all the downtown venues. In other words, close to all the action, but a quiet, peaceful place to retreat at the end of a day of adventure.
The space
This 1893 duplex suffered a fire in the 1990s and was completely gut renovated, with very little original material left. So, what you will experience is a bit more of a modern, open floor plan space in the shell of an old victorian. I have filled the walls with local art and relics collected during my several decades of historic preservation work in the city.
Guest access
The 3 bedroom unit is the entire ground floor with private entry, kitchen, bath and 3 queen bedrooms
Other things to note
This is our family home but the kids are gone and I am just one. I am also restoring a farmhouse in Northern Michigan, engaged to a woman on the west coast and actively working towards completing the triple crown of american hiking and annual pilgrimages...so I am gone...alot. When i am home and in the other unit, I am happy to meet and share info about the neighborhood. Otherwise, my cohost lives across the street and is available as well.
