Boston is at your fingertips with this quiet 1-bedroom apartment with a private garden. This unit is on the 1st floor of a historic 1860s brownstone situated in the heart of Charlestown. The tranquil bedroom features a comfortable king bed, perfect for a good night's sleep, library (please enjoy, but do not take books home), and smart TV. The spa-like bathroom includes a relaxing bathtub, toiletries and a hair dryer for your convenience. The sunny, well-stocked kitchen is a delightful place to cook a meal, or you can enjoy grilling on the private patio. Our place is a pleasant retreat where you will experience a quiet garden, juxtaposed with proximity to everything Boston has to offer. We think our place will help you experience everything Boston has to offer.

Welcome to our home! Built in 1863, this house is full of the charm and quirks one could expect of a building of this age. Please be gentle. We live in the adjacent unit-please let us know if there is anything that you need! We are happy to oblige!

Entrance: You will see a black gate to the left of the main entrance to the house. There is an electronic lock on the gate, once you enter the gate you will walk through an alley to the garden/patio. There will be a lock box on the French door leading out that will contain the keys to the unit. You will follow the stone stairs up to the patio, and then the wooden deck stairs up to the unit.

Garden/Patio: We will leave the furniture/pillows uncovered, weather permitting (otherwise the covers will be on, please feel free to remove). This time of year, the old pine tree behind the house produces a great deal of pollen which you will see in yellow streaks all over the pillows-apologies! The tree has been here as long as the house, and we love her (as do the animals; look for the blue jays, cardinals, and “inky” our mutant black squirrel), but the pollen and pine needles are ubiquitous.

Miscellaneous: Clothes steamer (please used distilled water in closet), iron/board, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, Cetaphil (please do not take any of the full-size containers). Please enjoy the library of books while you are here, but please do not take them with you!

Kitchen Basics:
Blue jars (upper right cabinet to sink)-Sugar, flour, salt, coffee (French press, electric coffee maker and grinder in upper cabinets). Glass jars (upper left cabinet to stove)-Baking soda, baking powder, salt, pepper, assorted tea. Please let us know if there is anything that you need kitchen-wise!
Notes: The front left burner on the stove can get stuck in ignition mode (incessant clicking), if you don’t mind just use the other 3. If you need to use that burner I can give you a tutorial on how to make the clicking stop.

Location: Centrally located, walkable to the Freedom trail, historic Charlestown/North End, USS constitution/waterfront, TD Garden, and Cambridge/Kendall Square. Easy access to public transportation; close to Orange line and bus (the 92 stops at the bottom of the street).

Grocery (Whole Foods)/Post Office/CVS: These are located downtown about 0.4 miles from the house. Walk down the street and take a left on Main St. There is also a nearby bodega (3 blocks) for any immediate essentials, wine/beer.

Coffee/café: mister Q café (www.charlestownqcafe.com) Dunkin Donuts (downtown, next to Whole Foods), Starbucks, Tatte (https://tattebakery.com/locations/ma/boston/40-warren-st), La Saison Bakery (www.lasaison-bakery.com)

The apartment was very cute and clean and plenty spacious for me and my girlfriend. We always looked forward to coming back to relax after a day of adventures. The hosts were great and easy to communicate with. We look forward to coming back again in the future and highly recommend this apartment
