It was just what we needed for our stay in Melbourne.Perfect for a couple, it was close to all of the people we were visiting and when we wanted to get away there was a lot to do within walking distance.Quiet neighborhood and easy to get in and out of.John made sure we were ok and would check in every couple of days.

Well Decorated, small, older cottage. Only complaint was the oddly placed toilet. I mean it was literally right up against the side wall, but I doubt that can be changed due to age of the foundation. I arrived after dark so it was a little difficult to find the street number of the home when I arrived. Once we figured everything out and checked-in, as some people have said, parking and using alley entrance may be easiest. John the owner, was very nice and accommodating. For the money, this place is a very good value. I would book again if I came back to Melbourne.

The property was cut and clean. However the location of the air conditioner over the sofa was cold. My friend and i checked in on July 12th and stayed until the July 16th and lived out of our suitcases as there was no where to put our clothes. Parking in the dirt alley put us right outside the entrance to the property. However there was a guy living in a trailer right directly across from the property. At times on our travels in and out of the property the guy would just be staring at us making it uneasy for us. Not good at all. Communication was horrible before, during and after the stay. John did say that Vrbo has problems with there system all the time. Our overall stay was ok as we ONLY used the property to shower and sleep.

The VRBO was nice, John was friendly and accommodating. The only bad thing was you couldn't sit outside in the yard, we used the alley alot which was noisy and dirty. Location of the bldg. was okay.

Truly amazing place and John went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The AC wasn’t working properly for my first night there but John had it fixed same day. Definitely recommended

The primary reason for the low ratings was the unexpected pet fee of $435. Nothing was mentioned on the website and I was only notified of it one day prior to check in via text. This was well beyond the time when I could cancel with no penalty. If I would have cancelled, I would have forfeited all my money. In addition, even if there was a fee upfront, I thought &15 per day for a small dog to be excessive. I have notified VRBO of this situation and they have done absolutely nothing. I thought all fees were to be presented up front.
