Stayed Aug 27, 2017We enjoyed our stay at this part of the lake. Property is very well presented and very conveniently located with small beach, restuarants and bus top right on the door step. The apartment is new, very clean and has all the amenitis you could ask for, even air conditioning which was very welcome for the warm summer evenings. Auther, the owner and great host provided us with lots of valuable information. All in all, very pleasant and the property is highly recommended Peter, Alison & Emma.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family wanted to go to Europe. We were not particular where. I started with the airfare and found a cheap flight into Zurich. I then discovered the hotels (and everything else) in Switzerland) are priced rather hight. So I started looking for someplace across the border in Germany. I did not throw a dart at a map, but it was close. I just sort of picked a place, trusted to luck, and there we went. That is how I found Arthur's apartment in Gaienhofen, and I am glad I did. It is a beautiful place, well maintained, and it has everything you need. Arthur is a great host. He is very helpful and honest. He lives downstairs with his parents and their dog, which is the most well behaved 1 yr old Border Collie I have ever met. The town of Gaienhofen is charming. We enjoyed the Boot tavern, which is right next door, and we ate dinner at one of the local restaurants across the street. There are more restaurants and pubs at nearby towns just five to 10 minutes away. This is the perfect location for launching expeditions in any direction. We spent a lot of time in the Constance area and we visited Stein am Rhein twice. We will definitely be back and we will stay with Arthur again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family and I stayed in Arthur’s apartment from August 31st to September 12th 2014. This was our first trip to Europe and Arthur was very helpful in making us feel comfortable and relaxed. He was attentive to our every need, speaks English extremely well, and even gave us many helpful tips about places to visit and how to get there. The apartment is very nice. It is newer construction and extremely clean and functional. The furnishings are good quality. It is very roomy with beautiful vaulted ceilings and we did not feel crowded at all. This is very nice as many places in Europe are much smaller than we are used to in the United States. The kitchen had everything we needed. There is also a washing machine which comes in very handy on longer stays such as ours. There is one full bathroom, and one 1/2 bathroom. We had a total of 6 people for part of the stay and this was important for us. The apartment is supplied with a flat screen television, a collection of DVD movies, a small library of books, and visitor brochures. All came in handy in the evenings during our two week stay. Basic Kitchen utensils are also supplied and even coffee and spices. On warm days it was delightful to sit out on the balcony lined with flower boxes and enjoy the peaceful scenery. At night is was great to lay on the bed and star gaze through the skylight located on the master bedroom ceiling. The apartment is situated in an ideal location for reaching many of the regions attractions quickly and easily. The village itself is small and quiet, which made for ideal conditions to come back and relax at the end of the day. On evenings when we did not feel like cooking dinner or venturing out, the small pizza and ice cream cafe across the street came in very handy. For those of you who are interested in famous literary personalities, Hermann Hesse’s former house is a 5 minute walk away. All in all, the facility is top notch and the owner is a true gentleman, polite, friendly and goes to great lengths to make sure your needs are met and that you are comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the area. It was a dream come true and everything we could have hoped for.
