Les Halles was Paris' central fresh food market. It last operated on January 12, 1973, after which it was "left to the demolition men who will knock down the last three of the eight iron-and-glass pavilions" and replaced by an underground shopping centre.
In the city's heart, Les Halles is a neighbourhood located in the 1st and 2nd arrondissements of Paris. It was historically the central market of Paris and a hub for food and trade. Today, Les Halles is a bustling area with a mix of old and new architecture, trendy boutiques, and lively nightlife. It is home to the Forum des Halles, a large shopping centre with various stores, restaurants, and a cinema complex. The neighbourhood is also a transportation hub, with several metro and RER lines intersecting at the Châtelet-Les Halles station. Despite its modernization, Les Halles retains some of its historic charms, with narrow streets and hidden courtyards waiting to be explored.
The property is easily accessible by public transport and car.
The nearest train station, Chatelet commuter station, is just a 1-minutes walk.
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is a 46-minute drive from the property.
