First, and I am not downgrading the review because this is my fault. The property does not have Internet. For me, Internet is no longer a search requirement as I assume all properties in urban/suburban locations have Internet. Just a FYI... The good - property was clean, seems to be recently renovated, a washer/dryer with a drying rack, and has a very nice terrace that I wish I had more time to enjoy. It is also within 15 walk of old town and a sidewalk restaurant area. Check-in was easy. The not so good - but in the eyes of the beholder. The kitchen is only equipped with a stovetop. If I had been staying in Bari for a week, I'd want a place with an oven and/or microwave for the ability to prepare food. The only indoor common area is in the foyer - a couchette and small table. The TV is located in one of the bedrooms. Again, for a longer stay, with multiple people, having a better furnished common area would be a must. I gave 4* rather than 5* because of attention to detail. My bathroom had no towels or toilet paper. Fortunately, it was just the two of us in separate bedrooms and the other bathroom was better equipped and we made do for three nights. I am sure that I could have contacted the owner/manager to fix the issue, but once we had everything unpacked, I didn't want to have someone re-enter the apartment. A couple of other notes of interest. The taxi from the airport was 25 Euros - driver refused to use the meter. Maybe because we were tourists? There do not seem to be ride sharing services available in Bari. While the apartment was located on a busy street, I did not see one taxi during my many walks - taxis were to be found on another street a couple of blocks away. I looked to book a taxi to take us to the train station, with luggage, and was quoted 60 Euros. Ridiculous. Walk to the train station with luggage was fairly easy and took about 35 minutes. Parking is almost non-existent in the general area. I had considered renting a car for a day trip to Matera and keeping it overnight for another excursion. But given the lack of parking, I took the bus to the airport (stop about two blocks from the apartment), picked up the car; returned it to the airport, and took the bus back.
