Stayed Sep 7, 2018A great place to base an island exploring holiday. Clean, bright apartment, very friendly and helpful owner. A steep 30 minute walk into the city, but easy access by bus (less than 100 yards from property), local supermarket just 10 mins walk away. Off-street parking and quick access to main routes, and a short drive (15km) from/to the airport. There are three apartments so would be ideal for a group of couples who want a communal space but also their own privacy.

Stayed May 4, 2017Apartment was small and cozy for 1-2 people. Bed was very comfortable, place was clean and had an amazing view. Had mostly what we needed and was mostly quiet on a dead end street. Marta was kind and available if we needed anything. Only complaint is that we would have liked to have towels changed after a few days.

Stayed Mar 24, 2017the apartment was clean, good shower and was well equipped for the very modest price. Nice garden to the front for sitting out and a great view over Funchal. On the map it looks close to the centre of the town but note very steep hills. Good bus service when we worked out the time tables, and a taxi about 7 euros. Marta the owner very friendly and helpful. If you want a base for your holiday at a reasonable price this was ideal.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969It isn't 5 start luxury, but has everything you need - a good-sized comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchen and one of the better bathrooms I have seen on the continent. The towels and bedding were excellent quality. It is close to the bus stop (frequent buses take 10 minutes going to or from the centre of Funchal) but you need a strong pair of legs to get up the steep street to the house. I was a lone female, and I was very impressed with the security. Marta was lovely, always making sure I had everything I needed. While I was there, I noticed there was an identical apartment next door to me, and what looked like a third apartment in the same garden. So it may be possible that if two or three sets of friends want to holiday together, but each have their own space, this would be a good option.
