Freyjugata Apartments- Central 1 Bedroom w Balcony

THE PROPERTY HAS AN ODOR AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THAT SMELLS LIKE MOLD AND MILDEW. WE NOTIFIED THE PROPERTY MANAGER AND WE WERE TOLD THEY WOULD TRY AND MOVE US TO ANOTHER UNIT , THAT NEVER HAPPENED. INSTEAD THEY SENT SOMEONE OVER WITH AIR SPRAY TO MASK THE ODOR, HE COMMENTED ON THE SMELL AS SOON AS WE OPENED THE DOOR. WE COULDN'T HAVE OUR FAMILY OVER DURING OUR STAY, THE ODOR WAS TOO OFFENSIVE...BEWARE

Adorable small 1 bedroom apt in a very centralized location for walking the city. Closest to bus stop eight for any tour pick ups (in front of church). Cafes nearby and a pizza place on the corner which had tasty slices when you're in need of american fare. Responsive property mgmt. Be aware only one set of towels for each person are provided -and one pillow per person on your bed.

Amazing place!

Excellent location and easy walking distance to the Rainbow Street and all the small shops and eating places. There was a pizza place a block from us that was a great place to eat at too. We were a short distance to bus stop #8 at the church which allowed for cheap transportation to and from the airport by Flybus. The only negatives are one towel per person for 7 days and a shower that splattered water all over the floor. Otherwise, very clean and safe place to stay at.

Great location, owners were easy to communicate with and gave great information on parking and restaurants. Highly recommend this apartment to families.

We enjoyed our stay in this apartment in downtown Reykjavik. Close to places to eat and sights to see.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The only one recommendation would for the owners to please consider adding an actual door on the shower (there is only a glass partition on one side). No matter how hard we tried to keep the water towards the wall, it always got water all over the floor which took multiple towels to soak up. But onto the positives, the place was exactly as pictured/described. It was clean and in a fantastic location where we could walk downtown to the stores/restaurants/bars/shops etc. It had a pull-out couch which my daughter utilized and found very comfy. The bed in the room was comfortable and the apartment had all the things that we needed (minus groceries of course lol). There is a combo washer and dryer, oven, microwave and stove. There was definitely a learning curve to use the appliances as they are completely different than in the US, but that was part of the charm. lol. One of the most important things was that the host was very responsive, helpful and happy to answer all of our questions. When staying in another country that was very important to us, and we greatly appreciated it. All in all, wonderful place to stay and would absolutely stay there again.

Comfortable and clean, great stay!

Nice little place in a GREAT location in Reykavik. I had some trouble with the appliances even after reading the property guide (I’m American and the appliances were very different than what we have). Otherwise a good stay!

The apartment was a small two room apartment with a living area that included a sofa bed for our child, kitchen, and eating area. The bedroom was small but had room for a queen sized bed. The apartment was modern and had several amenities, including a coffee machine, a warm water machine (for hot tea or cocoa), and all the plates, pots/pans and eating/cooking utensils that you could need for a short stay. Using the European washing machine was a little bit of a challenge for us Americans. There was also what appeared to be an installation error with the washing machine that we brought to the attention of the managers and that we hope will get repaired for the next tenants. It was definitely handy having the combo washer/dryer while we were in Iceland. The location was fantastic for access to downtown Reykjavik. We walked to the downtown several times. The downtown area was easy to get to know in only a few days. When we rented a car, we were able to park close to the apartment easily and the overnight parking was not expensive at all. Our family is a small family of three, and the apartment could be tight squeeze for more people. But of course, we were out and about all day long and only in the apartment to sleep. We would recommend this Vrbo to a small family who prefers to stay in an apartment as opposed to a hotel.
