Fontainebleau Hotel Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suite

Place was great but the elevators were down often.

Great size condo, fully stocked kitchen although it could use some mugs rather than just paper cups. Also, bring a wine opener. View of ocean was superb, and bedroom/bathroom were large and well appointed. The second bathroom was certainly helpful, and this unit could easily accommodate 4 people by using the sofa bed. Access to all hotel amenities is a huge plus. Great restaurants and beach/bar service.

The unit was big with a kitchen and the views of both the beach and surrounding area were stunning. We have stayed at Fountain Blue several times and this was one of the nicest units.

Property was beautiful. Property manager was very effective with communication. There was no pillows and blankets for the pull out couch. The master shower didn't drain so you didn't really feel clean getting out of the shower. Also the coffee maker was broken.

We rang in 2023 at this lovely property - our third stay in the Tresor tower at Fontainbleau. This unit has a gorgeous South and East facing view from the 30th floor - you get a partial pool view, a beautiful beach view to the SE and a lovely city / canal view to the South which allows for gorgeous sunsets - and all the fireworks throughout Miami Beach on Ny Eve. In addition, some of the air conditioning noise from the nearby Sorrento tower is reduced in this line, which is a definite plus. I found the unit to be in perfectly good shape - everything (all furniture, kitchen amenities, laundry, showers etc) functioned well. That said, the reason for 4 stars rather than 5 was 1) due to the proximity to the staff elevator which could be loud at night - and 2) no China coffee cups (which had been provided in other Fontainbleau units) which was not a major deal but a slight annoyance. We will be back to the Fontainbleau - our favorite place in Miami Beach, and VRBO is the way to do it. We love the free valet parking and spa access. The pool and beach area are lively but you can always find a quiet spot, and we like being mid-beach rather than lower into South Beach, which is an easy 2.5 mile walk or ride. The Fontainbleau is the perfect spot for long walks / bike riding (with 2 convenient nearby Citibike locations) with interesting points of interest both north and south. We also like the relative proximity to CVS for essentials not provided in the unit (sun block, groceries, laundry detergent etc). Overall a wonderful stay!

Overall, we had a negative experience at this Fontaineblue private residence. I will try to be balanced in my review. Negative 1.) It took us 1.75 hours to check-in. The line was 25 parties deep when we arrived at 6pm. We were told that the hotel's systems were down which continued to affect our stay over the next 4 days. 2.) We slept on perhaps the cheapest mattress we have ever experienced. The mattresses at Holiday Inn Express are a luxury compared to this mattress. 3.) I complained to the owner and management about the mattress multiple times. They essentially humored me by saying they just replaced the mattress and that they would send maintenance to fix the broken bed frame. Yes, that too. Nobody came to our room to fix the broken frame or even consider the fact that the mattress was in poor condition. 4.) Our room keycard stopped working after the first night and we were unable to key into our room the entire remaining 3 days. We had to ask a security guard or housekeeping to let us into our room every time. This caused us to wait 30 minutes to get into our room sometimes. The front desk said this was due to their system outage. 5.) The bathroom fan made a loud screeching sound that forced us to leave the light off at night rather than wake everybody up. 6.) Taking a shower felt like standing under a fire hose as the water stream was way too strong. The shower heads seemed to have not have been replaced in 20 years. 7.) The complimentary resort fee does not include the beach. It only includes the pool area. We had to pay an extra fee to get set up with a chair and umbrella. 8.) The scene at the Fontainebleu fits every cheesy stereotype of Miami Beach. This is not a family-friendly resort. We commiserated with 2 other families about this by the kiddie pool who wished they had stayed elsewhere. 9.) There were multiple pools to swim in, but the water looked dirty and murky in all of them. At first, we thought maybe they were salt water pools but then we went into two of the pools and confirmed that they were chlorine pools and they were just dirty. Positive 1.) The food scene is excellent at the Fontainebleu. We enjoyed Scarpetta and the breakfast buffet was probably the best we have experienced. Absolutely delicious with no shortage of selections. 2.) The views of the ocean, Miami Beach and Downtown Miami are awesome. We enjoyed taking in the nighttime and morning views. 3.) The staff was very friendly.

180 degree views of the ocean plus the view of the intercoastal and downtown. I have stayed at the resort many times. This is by far the best views. The unit has some wear and tear but i think all of them do at this point. overall amazing and will come back again.
