Whitby is an ancient port with a ruined abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’ while the port is still a working fishing harbour. It also has sandy beaches, donkey rides and rock pools, not to mention some of the best fish and chips in the world. Its narrow medieval streets are dotted with boutiques, shops, pubs and fish restaurants.
The cobbled Church Street takes you to the foot of the famous 199 steps leading from the town to St Mary’s Church and the Abbey Headland and Visitor Centre. The Whalebone Arch and bronze statue commemorating Whitby’s most famous explorer, Captain James Cook, stand proudly on the West Cliff, facing directly across the harbour to the Abbey.
Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park and is the perfect location for keen walkers. The Moors are a special place, where history and nature have combined to give us an amazingly vibrant landscape with woodland and moorland, rich in heritage and wildlife.
While staying in Whitby a visit to the coastal town of Robin Hood’s Bay is recommended, a picturesque old fishing village on the Heritage Coast of the North York Moors with narrow, twisting cobbled streets and alleyways.
Great decor Excellent facilities Loved the special touches … chocolates and lollies !
Really beautiful property in a central an yet quiet location. Lovely hospitality touches. Parking was a little tricky but that’s inevitable for a central location in a resort like Whitby
Lovely clean apartment perfect location
We loved everything about the apartment and the location is perfect. We spent 2 weeks there and it really felt like home to us - so far from our Australian home!! Whitby has so much to do and the regatta was an added bonus! Have sent the link for Oystercatcher Apartment to our friends!
Great location, just round the corner from West Cliff and so near to shops and harbour.
Ideal location to explore Whitby and the area. Close to great pubs and restaurants. Excellent walks. Nothing
Very well appointed and fabulous location Nothing to dislike
Good value Parking facilities
We had no problems renting this property. it took us a bit to find it. but once we did we found the apartment excellent ?
lovely and comfortable. Nice and cosy. nothing
warm, clean, cosy and well equipped. Great location just behind Skinner Street. Nothing
Location was very good, close to lots of restaurants/bars. Very spacious apartment, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Extra little items when checking in such as chocolates, snacks, milk, coffee etc. Parking was nearby an extra charge of £9 per day. Needed more coat hangers
Perfect for us as we were meeting friends in town. Location is fab. Decorated beautifully and had everything we needed. Couple of pointers that owners might not know about - there are no bulbs in the wall lights, the fire light doesn't work and the bed was a bit firm and lumpy (but that might just be me ;))
Everything about it nothing
The location was perfect. Nothing not to like.
Clean and attractively furnished, with a spacious kitchen/sitting room, this flat was well-situated for the West Cliff beach, shops and restaurants. A very enjoyable short break. We found the mattress a little unyielding, and the lavatory flushing system could be temperamental.
Wonderful property, centrally located in Whitby. The Property was exactly as advertised and the owners had provided a welcome pack which was lovely, as our visit fell during the two hottest days of the year they had also kindly provided a fan which was most welcome. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful apartment, everything you needed and more Nothing, couldn't fault it,
Apartment was very comfy. Home from home. Excellent location. Nice hospitality and very clean. Thank you very much x The key box was temperamental and fiddly.
