We arrived by train from Rome and were met by the owners assistant, Martina (more on her in a bit), and the property is on an old cobblestone street about a block from the Arno river and the Ponte alle Grazie. The elevator works beautifully and is large enough to carry luggage up and down. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous and huge. There are a/c units in each of the bedrooms, main living room and dinning room (so they should satisfy Americans définition of 'cool). As for Martina- she was the most wonderful host- there were a couple of minor hiccups that she took care of personally and very quickly. We asked Martina for suggestions in the neighborhood and she was spot on with her recommendations- to be honest, the stay would have been great, but Martina really made us all feel very much at home and I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about her.Remember- this is a few hundred year old building/apartment- it has it's quirks, but we can honestly say that when we go back to Florence we will definitely try to stay here again.Again- thank you, Martina- you really made our stay extra special, and we truly appreciate it.

Overall, it suited us well. Loved the architecture. Water pressure was poor. Bathroom lighting wasn’t the best. Construction going on right now so was a little loud…but that is temporary. Manager met me at the flat so I could drop bags early…much appreciated.
