I have been to Brittany most summers since I was aged 2 and so know it well. I have always loved Cap Coz beach and it did not disappoint - perfect location for a family holiday (our children are 5 and 3). The beach is goegeous and never too busy, plus there are water sports on offer for adults/older children and ‘club mickey’ for children aged 3 to 12 (children can stay for just an hour at a time or all morning/afternoon and it is reasonably priced). There are some lovely restaurants v close to the apartment - pied dans l’eau was our favourite (3 min walk) - and also the sandwich/pizza/chip/ice cream van on the beach is as good as ever (it has been there for 30+ years!). Plus made an easy meal or two! There are lots of things to do nearby, pretty places to visit (eg Bénodet (Santa marine), Concarneau, Quimper), markets, other beaches and also we went to oceanopolis in Brest (around a 50 min drive away) which was fab. But, weather permitting, you could stay in Cap-Coz for the whole time! Only slight downside is we didn’t find a supermarket in walking distance but there is a great Carefour shop around 10 mins drive away in Fouesnant plus tons of other shops as well in all the surrounding villages/towns. As for the apartment, the location is gorgeous - the patio garden looks out over the beach but is still private as it is slightly sunken. Literally only a 30 second walk to the sand! So handy being able to pop back for the loo, more towels etc! The pool was also brilliant - not too cold and also not busy; we spent most afternoons around 4/5pm at the pool. As for the apartment, there are 6 beds (1 double, 1 twin plus 1 set of bunk beds) across 3 bedrooms, plus sofa beds in the living room. It would easily suit a family of 2 parents and 4 kids, or perhaps 4 adults and 2 kids. If you didn’t mind a bit of a squeeze, you could sleep more as there are also the sofa beds! There are 2 WCs and 2 bathrooms which helps too. Good blackout curtains. It’s not luxurious but perfectly pleasant. The kitchen etc is compact but had all we needed and it was handy having a dishwasher. Plus we ate outside every day anyway. The parking space is great and v secure. Reception is also useful and has lots of information about places to go. And the local contact was very helpful and responsive. Loved our holiday - thank you!
