An exceptional setting in the very heart of old Florence 50 meters from the Uffizi Gallery and piazza della Signoria. Via del Corno is a quiet and historic street where one of the greatest Italian writers of the early 20th century lived and on which he set his most famous novel. It almost touches Palazzo Vecchio, which frames it at one of its ends. A 50-meter walk and you are in piazza della Signoria and at the Uffizi Gallery, and in 3 minutes you are at Ponte Vecchio. 200 meters in the opposite direction lies piazza Santa Croce.

A tourist could ask for no better location in Florence.

The home 75 square metres is on the first floor of a historic building with a monumental portal, a lovely entrance hall and a comfortably ample staircase with an elevator.

Uffizi Apartment was completely renovated in 2015. Very elegant indeed with its contemporary furnishings, it is an enchanting place to live, highly functional and perfect in every detail.
Parquet, air conditioning in every room, two bathrooms and balcony.
It is warm in winter and cool in summer thanks to the air conditioning but also to the extremely massive walls typical of historical edifices and its excellent exposure. The large windows make for bright and airy spaces.

The home is very quiet and the light-hued contemporary design of the furnishings immediately conveys a feeling of immaculate order and of relaxation. Warm and equipped with every convenience, this apartment combines the structural details typical of the old, such as the beautiful wooden ceiling, with the requisite comforts and conveniences of the new.

interiors
One enters a small foyer that leads to the living area, a comfortable parlor distinct from, but well-connected to, the kitchen that opens onto it further ahead.
To the left one finds the first double bedroom (“Pratolini”) with a small terrace, while to the right a small anteroom gives access to the first bath, the storage and laundry room and to the second double bedroom with private bath and built-in closet. The home can very comfortably accommodate even 6 adults. The two bedrooms are separate from the living area and the kitchen and the two bathrooms guarantee extreme privacy.

two double bedrooms of 15 sqm each
The “Pratolini Room”: ample, with beds that can be joined or separated, a balcony, a large closet with sliding doors of textured glass, air conditioning and wifi.
The “Amanti Room”: with a large double bed, built-in closet, private bath, air conditioning and wifi. A floor to ceiling window looks onto the street.
two baths
One bathroom is in the Amanti Room and the second bathroom can belong to those occupying the Pratolini Room.
These are equipped with 80x80 cm shower stalls in plate glass with nozzles whose aerated spray makes showering a real pleasure. The design of the fixtures, accessories and furniture give the bathrooms the same touch of class one senses in the rest of the apartment.
the living room is a comfortable space opening onto the dining area and furnished with a soft sofa (which can become a double bed), a flat-screen television and book case. Here one can sip a drink before dinner or relax, reading or watching TV.
the kitchen is spacious and fully equipped, its colors light hues of pine, with a large refrigerator-freezer, oven, microwave oven, toaster and every utensil needed for cooking. The table seats 6-8 persons.
These ample spaces make for a quality of life that can last a few days or months and even years.

More information on the location and on the charming via del Corno

The apartment is situated in the heart of Florence, in the true historical center of city, in that medieval core where beautiful Florentia was born.
The street, which is closed to traffic, is immersed in silence, picturesque in a typically Florentine way. It was here that the famous writer Vasco Pratolini lived and where he set his most famous novel, Cronache di poveri amanti. A placque opposite our portal commemorates this illustrious writer. The street lies just behind piazza della Signoria, to most ancient center of Florence.

Via del Corno lies between two important pedestrian streets: Via de’ Neri, which is famous for its many traditional shops, bakeries, small restaurants and other eateries, gelaterie and cafés, many of which are featured in the most important guidebooks, but also with a supermarket in the vicinity. Via de’ Neri also has friendly shops where one can buy reasonably priced clothes, shoes and bags. The other street, Borgo de’ Greci, offers excellent shopping for artisanal products.

The Uffizi Apartment was also conceived for persons wishing to rent for longer periods, for work or for study, and is consequently equipped with all of those spaces and conveniences to live as comfortably as in one’s own home!
Thanks to the efficient disposition of the rooms and spaces, this home can be rented to groups of friends, large families or even to persons who have to study: plenty of light, silence and every convenience make this a perfect apartment for longer stays. The home is complete with a handy storage area for suitcases and shoes as well as the laundry.

The Uffizi Apartment sleeps six persons thanks to the double sofa-bed in the living room, and one can also request additional small beds for children to be placed in the double bedrooms.

Why make this choice

My name is Cristiana. I teach Italian history and literature. I really love my city and I love the houses of the historic center. I have a great deal of experience in real estate in this part of town, and in 2014 I began looking for the “ideal” home in order to work with tourists. I saw scores of homes before finding the one I am offering you. In Florence there are innumerable homes for tourists, but I wasn’t looking for just any home. I wanted to find a place where I would have gladly lived.
It is anything but easy to find homes that are well-designed, quiet and bright within the confines of that tiny central area where I feel a tourist ought to live even for a short time. The real center of Florence.

Only from here can you wander on foot at any hour of the day or night, in safety and with home close by. Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, the Bargello, Piazza del Duomo, Santa Croce and the Uffizi, and teeming with little streets full of life and interesting places to discover -- all of this within a few hundred meters -- or just looking up on via del Corno.

Nice place to stay and good communication from Matias. There was a bit of construction going on the building but nothing that impacted our stay.

This was a very comfortable apartment in a wonderful location that was walking distance towards major museums/sights. The kitchen could do with a dish sponge and they might want to check the temperature gauge for the oven to make sure it's working correctly. But otherwise, it was great and we enjoyed our stay. Checking in was a breeze!

Location was perfect and basically in the city center. Everything popular in Florence was in walkable distance. Rooms were comfortable. For check in, an assistant contacted us via WhatsApp and waited for us. He showed us into our apartment. There was a fee for checking in late though. Also have to pay city tax. Both in cash so make sure you exchange some money ahead of time. We arrived at Florence airport 10PM and took Uber black here. Taxis are cheaper but it was cold and late so didn’t want to wait in the taxi line.My only complaint was there was mosquitoes around during our stay and didn’t realize the VAPE plugs could be used.

The location was really close to everything, just minutes from the Uffizi gallery. Unfortunately it was also also right outside a bar / taverna and every morning starting at 4:00am to about 6:00am there were a bunch of drunks hooting and hollering outside of the place right below our window. Our stay was from Thursday to Sunday and even Sunday night this happened. It was so bad there were even other tenants yelling at them to shut up and move on. The air conditioners were really loud and needed some attention, really loud fan noise to the point we couldn’t use the ones in the bedrooms. The place looks great in the photos but needs some maintenance and is showing its age. Other than the drunks and the loud air conditioners, the stay was ok. The location to the Florence highlights was really good.

we loved our stay-- the location was absolutely perfect, and there was so much space! beds were comfy, kitchen was well equipped, and Cristiana was readily available for all our questions! It was minutes from every single place you would want to visit--the bridge, the Uffizi, the Florence leather school, the Duomo, and countless other restaurants, cafes, and bars. I highly receommend!

This apartment was really roomy. With 3 adults, it was wonderful to have two bedroom, two bathrooms, a dining area, and a little living room. The kitchen was very well set up and usable. The only downside was that the bathrooms felt cramped and the showers were tiny. Despite that, I would be happy to stay here again.

Very comfortable apartment in great location. The building itself has scaffolding covering all the windows and some noisy construction happening on the outside, but we spent our days out so that was not really an issue for us. The owner, Cris, very quickly responded to any questions we had and arranged a taxi for us when we left. She also very generously had pizza, focaccia, and an Easter cake waiting for us on arrival! Do go across the Arno as the neighborhoods there are charming and more reflective of everyday life in Florence.

The overall description is correct, but the apartment is poorly lit, smaller than appears in pictures with only one small window in living/dining area, requiring use of lights all day. Bedrooms have one window, tho narrow street in front provides limited lighting. Seating in living area is minimal, with no side tables. Beds are very comfortable with quality linens and pillows. Bathrooms are decently appointed, tho showing wear. Kitchen is reasonably well equipped tho only two wineglasses and we cud never figure out microwave. Unfortunately, there was major scaffolding along the front and work being done on/in building about which we were never advised. The early morning noise was really disappointing and annoying. Location is great with many wonderful restaurants as well as quick access to Uffizi, Santa Croce and the Cathedral and the historic center.

Property location was great, centrally located/short walk to all. Communication with the host was excellent. The apartment was nicely stocked, clean, and perfect for our 4-night stay with 3 adults and 2 kids. Also, great restaurant (Alfredo) is right around the corner. Authentic, not a tourist trap.

We had no problem communicating with the owner and the place was very nice and clean and very centrally located. We could walk to anywhere we wanted to visit. Plenty of nice restaurants around as well. The Uffizi is right next door, as is the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo. The only negative was the construction happening in the building at the time, but nothing the owner could affect. Great place overall. Would recommend.

The location was awesome. We did have some construction BUT that is part of it. It made it easier for us to find the apartment. Communication was great and big thank you for arranging the taxi for us on our departure. The taxi stands were not easy to find. We would stay here again. Plenty of space for all of us.

We spent 3 nights at this apartment. The apartment has been fairly recently updated. Bathrooms are extremely small (and I mean really small). In order to sit on the toilet in one of the bathrooms, your right foot is required to rest in the shower. If you are above average in size (and I don't mean overweight), good luck maneuvering in the shower. On the cleanliness note, the apartment needed a major scrubbing. The extra blanket in closet was dirty and unusable. The walls were covered in dust and the paint was peeling from a dripping AC unit. The location is centrally located and this was much appreciated. However, it was difficult to sleep at night. On the street below, there is a bar or some sort of loud business where people are congregating and talking loudly throughout the night until 5 in the morning (every morning). Yes, 5am. No exaggeration. I read about this on other reviews, but thought the other reviewers may not be accustomed to city life. It's a problem. On the plus side, our host was communicative and welcoming.
