This nice and modern duplex apartment is located in the tourist center of Funchal, close to hotels, restaurants, stores, beaches, and a fantastic promenade perfect for relaxing walks.

The apartment is fully remodeled and spread over two floors with spacious rooms throughout. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms: one with a double bed, private bathroom, and balcony; two with twin beds and a shared bathroom, one of which also has balcony access. The open-plan living room and kitchen are onthe lower floor, along with a bathroom and a balcony with a seating area and stunning sea views. The apartment accommodates up to six guests and is fully equipped for a comfortable stay on Madeira Island. A parking space is included.

AREA
Located on Rampa do Lido, next to an Indian restaurant, supermarket, and post office. The area offers many services, including restaurants, bars, hotels, beaches, a bike path, promenade, gardens, and paddle courts. Fórum Madeira Shopping Center is 900 meters away (3 minutes by car or 13 minutes on foot). The center of Funchal is 7–10 minutes by car.

GETTING AROUND
Transfers can be arranged with local partners (cheaper than airport taxis). If renting a car, navigation apps will easily find the address.

ACCESS TO PROPERTY
Guests have access to all areas of the property.

INTERACTION
Support is always available for questions or assistance. An app is provided with important property and local information.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- All guests must present valid ID (passport or identity card) as required by Portuguese law.
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance (at least 48 hours prior); otherwise, it is subject to team availability.
- Bed linen and towels are provided. Baby cot, high chair, and baby bath available on request. First aid kit, extinguishers, and fire blanket are on site.

ATTENTION
A municipal tourist tax of €2.00 per person/night (ages 13+), up to 7 nights (€14 max per person/stay), is charged. A payment link will be provided upon arrival.

    Unfortunately, the comfort and management aspects were disappointing. The living room seating is not suitable for an apartment of this size—the couch is essentially lawn furniture and not comfortable for indoor use. The master bedroom shower had very low water pressure, and the hot water heater only allowed for one hot shower at a time. As we were five people, this was inconvenient. The apartment is equipped with noise detection sensors that send automatic SMS alerts if a certain decibel level is exceeded. We received a message early one morning claiming excessive noise during hours when everyone was asleep. Our group consisted of two adults, one senior, and two children, so we were not a partying group. When we contacted the management company, the response was dismissive, suggesting we “must have gone over” and even speculating that a toilet flush could have triggered it. This was particularly frustrating given that the apartment is above a warehouse that operates daily from around 08:00–09:00 with significant noise, and there was construction taking place in another apartment in the building during the day. Most concerning was that the apartment was entered without prior notice to change linens and towels while we were out, which felt like a serious invasion of privacy. Overall, while the location and parking are very good, issues with comfort, intrusive monitoring, poor communication, and lack of privacy significantly affected our stay.

    We had a wonderful time. Our son was training with local futball team. Location was perfect with easy walking access downtown Funchal and many great restaurants nearby. Supermarket right next door was convenient. Only thing missing from unit was a working coffepot, but with so many places nearby was not a major issue.

    Very cozy and big apartment with full facilities. Big advantage with the private parking space! Definitely will come again! A few negatives points: -Not clean when we arrived. Wanted to clean by ourselves but the vacuum was not working. -The sink from the bedroom bathroom was completely clogged, so not possible to use it. -Lot of noise from the neighbours dogs.

    The area where it is situated is certainly wonderful! The size of the apartment is a plus, as is having the two floors, the two balconies, the three rooms, and the two and a half bathrooms. The spacious kitchen, the large dining table and the separate laundry room were also much appreciated. We were very happy with the comfort of the beds and that they were changed once a week. We did encounter a few issues and we received a rapid response.

    Pluses first. Location is really good. It is about a 1.5 mile walk to the center of Funchal, but Lido 1 is in a nice neighborhood with plenty of great restaurants around. An Island Apart has a great customer portal and it was super easy to request an early check-in and late check-out (at very reasonable rates), and order transportation to and from the airport. Nice perk! The apartment is spacious and the upstairs balcony was particularly nice. Minuses. The apartment was fairly clean, however the kitchen table still had stuck on food and crumbs in the chairs from previous guests. We also found a drawer full of underwear. General items you expect in a VRBO were lacking. There were no paper towels (had to buy our own), only 1 kitchen towel, one dishwasher pod, no dish soap, etc. Towels were an issue as well. Although this is a 3-bedroom, 2 ½ bath unit, we were only given 1 towel each for me and my husband. We called and texted about the towels and it took a day to get 2 more. Normally we would wash the towels but with no dryer it was taking quite a while for items to air dry. My husband was told they only allow one towel per person. IMO, it is a better guest experience to equip the house to the number of bedrooms/bathrooms. Barking dogs. There are several (very annoying) barking dogs as neighbors. Not a positive or a negative, but good info to share – there are approximately 70 stairs from the main road to the apartment. We liked the exercise, but if you have trouble with stairs, this may not be the place for you.
