Excellent location! Parked for the weekend & didnt need to bother with the car until we left. Assigned parking spot is worth part of the room fee & well worth it! Galena is a parkibg nightmare! I'd live in this apartment if i lived full-time in Galena. Beautifil, clean & furnished with comfortable beds & nice appliances!

Great property for couples getaway. Awesome location to shopping and restaurants. The reserved parking place was a bonus since parking on the street is nearly impossible on Saturday. Would highly recommend this property!

Very handy location. Steps are a bit challenging but we managed. The appartment is really pretty, updated with everything you need. You do have to wash your towels because only 1 set is provided per person. Beds are comfortable. Overall 5 star

I couldn’t had picked a more perfect place for a weekend of shopping, good eats and entertainment with my girlfriends. What made it the best was its smack dab in the middle of it all! The kitchen was a great place for conversation, and was so happy to have stumbled across this place.

A girlfriends wonderful weekend getaway! A group of us wanted to walk everywhere and not worry about driving. You cannot beat this location - steps away from the beautiful town! Easy check in and access. The suite itself was very modern, clean and adorable! Very happy with our first stay in Galena!

Great little anniversary getaway

Our stay was amazing!! We really loved the space and its location…we would definitely stay there again.

Apartment is clean and nicely refinished. Showers were large. Parking spot was offered which is nice in this busy town. We took advantage of playing at the Eagle Ridge resort and the golf course was beautiful. We would stay again.

Condo is very clean, rooms were great loved the kitchen area had all kinds of kitchen supplies. Loved being able to walk everywhere to all historic sites, shopping and restaurants. We had a great time.

My sisters and I loved our accommodations in Galena when we came for a sisters' weekend. This place was clean and so close to everything in Galena. We had a great time!

Galena is a great place to visit and we enjoyed our stay. The Gazette suite that we stayed in was a nice and very clean apartment. Great location in downtown, with a reserved parking spot. ( better instructions on where parking spot was would be helpful). Communication with property management was good. We would stay here again, as long as we were sharing cost with another couple, as we did this stay. Apartment description and photos were accurate. Beds were comfy. Bedroom closets had a small hanging cloth shelve unit , which was nice. But the closets could have used a few more hangers and the bedroom could have used a folding luggage rack to use for your suitcase. Overall, a nice place, a nice town and we would come back again.

Hard to get into the property. Couldn’t get in until 4pm and rooms were not cleaned.

We love this place enough to not even bother with any other place to stay. Extremely clean and well laid out. Had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. This gem of an old building has been completely modernized and they made no bad choices when designing it. The two bedrooms are on opposite ends of the unit, and you really can't hear a thing. Perfect location and the owners really respond very quickly to any questions. The only thing is the 21 stairs leading up to the place, which my 83 year old mother managed just fine. The stairs are very even and there is ample lighting. Everything else is perfect!

I came here with my 82 year old mother (who managed the long entrance stairs just fine) and we both thoroughly loved this property. Had every imagineable logical convenience, and all beautifully remodeled in a fascinating old building. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the unit, which really was great. This was the cleanest VRBO or other property rental I have ever stayed in. Absolutely immaculate. High quality linens and bedding. The owners were very easy to get in touch with when I had a question. Would stay here again without hesitation.

This property is so clean and all updated. Was equipped with everything needed to stay. The location was perfect. We were able to shop and bring packages back during the day because it was close.

Relax and refresh is a quaint community. Loved it’s history, shops and restaurants.

This super clean, well decorated condo is perfectly located just steps from Galen's famous downtown. I enjoyed the learning about the buildings newspaper history. The trip was a 4 day getaway with my sisters and we had an amazing time. NOTE: There is absolutely nothing consumable supplied in the kitchen with the exception of coffee pods. Was surprised there was no sugar or powdered coffee creamer, also no salt and pepper. These are typically supplied by VRBO properties.

Perfect location for traversing the Main Street places, restaurants; etc. The size and design of this property was lovely for two couples. Nothing was missing for us. We were last in Galena is the late '90s and it's even better than I remember! We'd definitely recommending this location.

We loved everything about our stay at the Gazette Suites. The property was beautiful, immaculate and a great location. The steps were a bit challenging for my 86 year old mom, but overall ended up being fine. The only negative (and it is minor) was the television channels were limited.

Kitchen had everything needed for cooking. I would have used a hot water kettle, but using a pan was fine. There are only 2 king size beds. I did find a blow up mattress in the closet at the end of our stay, but the only space it would fit would be the living room area. 4 people can stay comfortably if they can sleep in 2 beds. The unit was very quiet and soundproof. Loved having a code so everyone could come and go easily.The stairs to get to the second floor are steep and it's a big staircase so that should be factored in when considering this rental. There were enough towels but definitely not extra, so you may want to bring your own, especially if you want your own hand/face towel.It was nice to have a dedicated parking spot, but there is only one about a block away. You can walk across the grass past the public bathroom building directly to it. We met up in Galena and had multiple cars, so parking the first day was a problem. But in the evening, spots open up in front of the building and you can leave your car on the same side of the street as the building (3 hour limit during the day on other side).All in all, we loved this rental and would stay again.

Location is ideal for shopping, dining, sightseeing. Walked to Grant Park and then later walked on River Trail. Beds are comfy, kitchen has all you need for cooking, but bring your own spices, oils, condiments as there are none. If you have trouble with stairs, take note there are 20 steps in a narrow,but well lit, hallway to get to unit. Reserved parking spot was close if no street parking available. Only downside to this unit is there is no outside space to chill but that is just something we prefer. Would not stop us from staying again, great spot. 😀

Awesome trip - LOVED the condo; great proximity to shopping, restaurants, bars, the trolley, Grant's home, etc. Will definitely come back. Would like to see salt & pepper at the condo - tried to get some at the spice store and it was $30!

We absolutely loved this place. Well appointed, clean, modern. Quiet! Yet in the center of everything. We were able to walk to nearly everything we wanted to see and do. Tons of restaurants to choose from. We booked for 2 nights. Wish we had planned for 3.

4 sisters took sister in law for birthday. Couldnt get away last year for her 50th so it was a 50+1 celebration. We shopped, and ate and drank all weekend. Great accommodations. Fun times

We were impressed by the cleanliness of the place. It has a fully stocked kitchen (crock pot, toaster, Keurig, coffee maker, baking pans) Very tastefully decorated. It felt homey. The proximity to Main St with all the shops and restaurants was very convenient. No need to drive, unless we went to explore. Only cons: steep stairs to get up to the apartment. The bedroom with the on-suite doesn’t have a window We would stay here again! 5⭐️ all around
