Enjoy!

The Space:

Our modern, beautifully-designed tiny cabin has all the comforts of home, just nestled away in the Shenandoah mountains. River Side (also known as Turkey Run) is packed with amenities and fun for couples or a special personal retreat – and is the perfect home base for your getaway!

The best part about the cabin is its location: River Side boasts views of the Shenandoah River from the deck, and is within walking distance to public river access (about 300 feet from the property). When it’s warm, it’s perfect for swimming, tubing, canoeing, and kayaking. There’s also great fishing (we’ve caught bass and channel catfish). And at night, we love dozing off listening to the sound of the river rushing by. If you would like to access the river from your cabin, the public access is located at the bottom of Carvell Road. From your parking spot at the cabin, walk to the property entrance and 300 feet down Carvell road to get to the public river access.

Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close we are to downtown Luray and the famous Luray Caverns – both just a 10-minute drive away. Beyond the caverns (which we recommend you definitely check out), the town has fantastic breweries, restaurants, and shops for you to enjoy! And of course, you’re also just minutes from Shenandoah National Park – with amazing hiking trails and views!

The cabin includes:

- High-quality pullout queen sofa bed (it’s very comfortable and large)

- Fully-stocked kitchen with fridge, microwave, and two-burner hot plate

- Central heat and AC to keep you comfortable, no matter the weather

*Please note (3/26/26), the sofa bed pictured is being replaced and we are awaiting delivery. In the meantime, we have temporarily installed a new futon that converts to a bed. We are expecting the new sofa bed to be delivered within the next couple of weeks. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Outside, you’ll also find:

- A large hot tub, perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring

- Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang

- Kayak and canoe (and paddles) – available on the property for you to enjoy

Please note: River Side is part of a large private retreat, with three other cabins on the property – Two other tiny cabins about 50 feet from River Side, and another larger cabin about 150 feet away. You will likely see guests at the other cabins, and they may also be enjoying the river (and kayaks/canoes/tubes) during your stay. That said, the property is very large – so you should easily be able to find a quiet spot on the river to call your own. And of course you’ll have your own personal hot tub, and fire pit.

(By the way, the other two tiny cabins sleep 2 people each and the lodge sleeps 5 people – so if you’re looking to book a stay with a larger group, please contact us. Between River Side and the other three cabins, we can accommodate up to 11 people on the entire property.)

Longer Stays

For stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review.

You're staying in a tiny cabin, which means things are a bit more compact—including the bed! It may not be your standard mattress or frame, but it's cozy, thoughtfully designed for the space, and many guests find it perfectly comfortable for a restful night in the woods.

Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

The host was very attentive and supportive, which was great. The overall location was cute too. Unfortunately, there were some cleanliness issues with the sheets and other linens, which affected our stay. When reported, the host seemed to take it seriously and was kind in their response.

Quiet and beautiful scenery, exactly what we were looking for. There was a lot of bus traffic in and out of the river trail but it was also a holiday weekend. Whomever I spoke with via text responded quickly to any questions.

My partner and I had a great stay here. The place was exactly as described and very clean. We loved relaxing outside and taking in the beautiful scenery. The location was directly between the towns of Luray and Fort Royal so there was always a good spot to go for a bite to eat. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.
