Cabin was perfect for a getaway in the woods of Maine. Was exactly the same in person as pictured. Conveniently located close to the harbor, a cozy cabin for a single like me or would be perfect for a couple to have a romantic weekend.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The photos don’t do justice to the beautiful view from the porch. We spent most of our time at the cottage on the porch, watching the boats come and go. There were ospreys nesting nearby and it was awesome to watch them. The cottage was just enough space for the two of us. We could have used some additional storage — there’s a closet but there were only a handful of hangers, and it would have been useful to be able to hang up more of our stuff. Lots of storage for toiletries in the bathroom though. The kitchen was small but well appointed. Lovely, quiet area with all the amenities of Boothbay Harbor a short drive away.
We have a nearby cabin so this was a nice option when we had more guests than our cabin comfortably holds for a couple of days. VRBO’s service team was very quick to return a call (10 min.) when I inquired about removing the winter cover on the AC unit.
This is a secluded little cabin quite cozy for 2 people. The waterfront views from the deck were spectacular. Unfortunately the bathroom plumbing was problematic -- both the sink and bath tub were extremely slow to drain. If the bath tub was draining, the sink would not drain. We called the property manager and they sent someone over the next day but couldn't fix it. They had to call in an actual plumber. It is quite mysterious how the cabin could be cleaned without a running sink and nobody had noticed it previously. The bathroom light also could not be switched off; we had to manually unscrew the bulb to turn it off, and that was never fixed during our stay. I think the property itself is quite old and could use a little update or at least a thorough inspection. That said, the deck and surroundings were very enjoyable and made up somewhat for the plubming mishap.
I couldn't use a swing which I was looking forward to use it to enjoy the view and read. Also, a yard needs sprucing up.
the cabin was lovely and very comfortable. We would've like more condiments (like salt & pepper) but oh well!
My wife and I went to Boothbay Harbor for our 10 year anniversary and stayed at this house. We were less than a mile from town and only about 1/2 mile to the lobster wharf where we went immediately and had drinks and a lobster roll. The house had a wonderful deck with a great view of the harbor. It even had a cast iron stove with an automatic light that gave a great warmth in the evenings. We had a very pleasant stay.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The deck is a perfect place to relax and unwind. The view is gorgeous. The cabin is small but perfect for two people. There is no manual in the cabin telling you how to get to the beach or how to operate tv/heat... The furnishings are fine although the bed is very uncomfortable. There were only two pillows and a thin blanket. The shower is very small due to the size of the rod the curtain hangs from. I would stay here again if I knew that the mattress had been replaced. There are many great restaurants within just a few minutes drive. You feel secluded but you're actually not. Lots of great trails to walk in the nearby Land Trust areas.
Great location! No complaints.
