Charming Oasis in the Heart of Historic Downtown

I do not recommend this place, especially for anyone elderly. There’s steep narrow steps up to the apartment with a bare wood railing. When you walk in the air freshener is so overpowering and smells awful…I had to open the windows, or the ones that actually opened to get rid of the smell. The floor is slanted, there’s a few steps going down to one of the bedrooms, and the table and chairs are tight next to the steps, the tv didn’t work the whole time we were there . The beds are practically on the floor and the furniture is actually a futon and chair that look like college dorm furniture from Walmart. The owner laughed that our tv didn’t work and said to go sit outside. There’s a rotted deck out back that is really small and dark. You can not tell that by looking at the pictures the owner posted. We booked for 3 days but left after 1 as this place is a dump.

Deck was rotted out,no heat control ,no tv ,Loud music from downstairs, Could not get a hold of any one.

Great location on Main Street, around the corner from the National Eagle Center, one block off a beautiful walk along the river. I appreciated the simple, natural beauty of real wood floors and cabinets as well as tile floors, countertops and shower. The only drawback was a low, slanted ceiling in the bedroom that has the king bed. My husband and I both had to duck to get in and out of bed. For a person who's 5' 5 or less, I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem.

Location is great and unit was clean. Be aware unit entry door and lock is upstairs. Had Rocu but no regular tv.

Great location right downtown!!

The location was perfect for our travels between Red Wing and Alma. The town had great options for dining and the accomodations were ideal. The host was acccomodating and had more recommendations on things to do then we had time. We will stay again. Thanks Shelby!

Great location. Great communication with the host. Clean and well stocked. Good info on how to do things, what to see and where to eat available on site. We would recommend this property and this host to anyone visiting the area.

Nice space in a convenient location.

We’ve stayed in this apartment twice and really enjoyed both visits! It’s clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen and a big fridge. The central air and extra AC keep things cool, even upstairs. The bathroom is roomy, and the beautiful floors add a nice touch—even their bit of slant gives the place some memorable character. (In fact, on our first stay, my husband had fun setting a marble in the middle of the floor and watching it roll—one of those little quirks that makes a place memorable!) Be aware there’s a long, steep flight of covered stairs to reach the apartment, but we found it well worth it. Overall, a lovely place to stay!

Great duplex near most everything in Wabasha. Host was very kind and responsive. It was clean and the beds very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

We were in town to attend a theatrical production and visit dear friends. The location, space and general accommodations were perfect for our group of 3.

Our apartment was perfect for visiting with our 2 young grandkids. We love Wabasha and the closeness of s0 many places to visit with 8 & 10 year olds- Oxbow Park, Lark Toys, SPARK Kids STEM spot, Wabasha Library. Perfect location.Cute Apartment.

Had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway

We enjoyed our friends get away here. Great location. Clean, cozy and just what we needed. Beds were comfy. Water pressure in shower was awesome!! We all mentioned that. We would definitely stay here again.

I had a week long rotation at the hospital. This place was the perfect home away from home.

we spent two nights in Wabasha for a family reunion, this location and residence worked great for 4 adults. very clean and private. we would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. It was clean, quiet and safe. The location was just what we wanted. There is no water view, the trees summer leaves are blocking it. Also, the ceilings are quite low (7’), and each room has a ceiling fan. So the property might not be for you if you are tall. Also, if you have any mobility concerns it would be a challenge. It is a second floor unit, the beds are very low to the floor (to accommodate for the low ceilings) and there are some stairs inside the unit that are very easy to trip down.

I can't say we didn't enjoy our stay in the Wabasha area-did a lot of interesting things. However, we have stayed at several VRBO properties & have never been unhappy until now. The unit was clean, comfy, & well stocked but there were some issues that you might want to consider. The stairs leading up to the unit are quite steep and carrying supplies & luggage may not be suitable for senior citizens. It was exhausting to say the least. The partial river view is actually no river view due to overgrown tree branches completely blocking any view. The beds, although comfy, are very low & difficult to get out of. It is a very convenient location to explore the area but just beware if you have any physical issues.
