Charming 2-bedroom apartment in Cardiff city center, super fast WiFi Netflix

Property was perfect location, very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Only let down was the communication to access the property when we arrived.

Booked this last year for a concert that me, my friend, my Son and Daughter were attending this weekend. We arrived at the address of the property as stated on the booking. It didn’t look like the pictures and there was no sign of it being a holiday flat. It was down a back alley with no options to park and phone reception. We walked up the alley to try to find the property as check-in info stated that we could pick up the keys at the security desk. However there was no access to any of the houses. Due to no phone reception and the need for facilities we moved to a supermarket carpark half an hour away and tried to make contact with the property owner. This was not easy in itself and took about half an hour to get to him, by this time it was 30 Celsius and we were very tired from the 5 hour drive. Anyway ‘Raymond’ the property owner had no idea about our booking and said that the property had been booked out to someone else (I suspect at a higher price due to the concert?). Raymond said he would try to find us an alternative but after waiting another half hour he was only able to offer unsuitable alternatives. He got in touch with vrbo, who eventually informed us that the booking had been cancelled and we were stranded. Vrbo is giving a refund and offered a voucher for the difference of the cost of any alternative we were left to source. The voucher was only valid for certain websites. The city was full due to the concert so we were unable to find anywhere. Shambles!

We were looking forward to staying, but after much back and forth with Raymond we were booted from our spot and sent to a much less desirable location. He had rented the spot we had already paid for to someone else. So at 10:14 pm we were looking for a hotel.
