This is a very pleasant apartment just above the town. The rooms are a decent size and comfortably furnished. The kitchen area is small but has everything you need. However, it is the balcony, overlooking the marina, that really makes it special. Big enough for a table and four chairs, it is the perfect setting for a leisurely breakfast watching the comings and goings in the harbour area (as well as for evening drinks before going out). Irene was a gracious host, taking us to the airport when we reluctantly had to leave, and her friend Coco was there to welcome us when we arrived, even though we were several hours late due to a delayed flight. Calvi is a pleasant small town with a selection of restaurants (U Fanale being the best, in my opinion) and a long beach with plenty of places to eat right on the sand (and we especially like Au Bout du Monde).
Well appointed flat with stunning view of Calvi from the balcony. We ate all our meals out there! The flat is within easy walking distance of the beach, port, restaurants and bars and also near the railway station where you can take a scenic ride along the coast to Île Rousse. There is a boulangerie just down the road. The citadel is well worth a visit as are the little streets with boutiques and the delicatessens. Supermarkets are also nearby so you really don’t need a car.
Absolutely stunning view & really close to restaurants/shops.
We stayed in Irene's very comfortable, and excellently located, apartment in Calvi for a week in September 2017. We would happily stay there again on any future visit to Calvi and Corsica. The apartment is on the third floor with a good lift. It is nicely set up, with everything we would need, and a wonderful view from the living room and balcony over Calvi Port: beautiful - and constantly interesting. We were very well welcomed by Irene's friend Anne who guided us in to find the private parking place ( a great help after a very long day's travel and drive from Bastia airport). Anne also explained how the apartment worked and how to exit the building from the basement for an easy walk down to the port and the town. When Irene arrived a few days later, she was warm and friendly and happy to answer any questions. She even drove us to our early morning flight at the end of our stay, so we could return the car the evening before (which turned out to be a very good idea.) We thoroughly enjoyed Calvi, walking to the restaurants and shops, the beach - where we swam- and the little train which goes along the coast to Lile Rousse, stopping at all the swimming and eating places. We climbed over the Citadel and drove the spectacular road to Porto and Piana.
