I've rented a VRBO through the property management company Appart'Ambiance in the past. Though I didn't seek them out, I had confidence that everything would be in order and the payments would be processed correctly. Both Karine and Lukas of Appart'Ambiance were hospitable and helpful upon my arrival in Lyon and after I made my way to the apartment. The apartment no longer looks like the images on the site. It's now painted in a green theme and the furniture is different. Appliances were contemporary. Even though it's located centrally, with the windows open day and night it was quiet. Very little white noise except for birds in the distance. There were a couple small hiccups that I chalk up to pandemic shortages - a part was missing so the interior handle of the entry door still needed repair. There was a cigarette burn on the duvet cover the laundry company supplied the apartment. I told management about both situations & they responded promptly. Compared to other VRBOs in France and other countries where I've stayed, it would be helpful to Americans, at least, if there were an information book inside the apartment to explain what to do in case of an emergency (fire, accident) to know how to call local authorities. And, instructions for how to use the washer/dryer. This is provided at other VRBO properties. It would be convenient if the property managers could meet guests at the property instead of at their business office, as other VRBOs do. After a long trip through busy train stations to arrive in Lyon, needing to take a taxi to the Appart'Ambiance business office and a second taxi to the property was a bit to navigate before getting oriented in the city. Perhaps it's easier for those renters who have cars to get around. I'll happily rent a property managed by Appart'Ambiance again in the future.
