Beautiful Suite TAMAYO in the famous Mariscal District! Best place in Quito

We absolutely loved our month long stay here! The apartment itself is perfect for two and had everything we needed to live comfortably. It was also very quiet at night, as it is on the 8th floor and the windows are noise dampening, and the neighborhood itself is quiet at night. We also really enjoyed the wonderful view with the large windows! We really liked the location of the apartment in La Mariscal. Very nice neighborhood to walk around, and a great park nearby that we spent a lot of time in as well. Also within walking distance to a large grocery store and many smaller neighborhood shops. It's also a great location in Quito to access all parts -- the historic center, La Carolina area, and the teleferique were all very nearby with a short Uber ride. The host was also very kind and responsive! We couldn't recommend this place more and hope to be back one day ourselves!

Very nice and quiet location. Modern building with gated security. There’s 2 small restaurants next to the building and a small grocery store. Host comunicantes and responds immediately and has others to help. Thank you very much, highly recommended.

Cathy is the consummate hostess and has lovely taste. Tamayo is within walking distance of everything you need - culture, entertainment, groceries, and necessities. The apartment is clean and bright with a lovely French and Tahitian decor. The Mercado is two blocks away and rivals Otavalo in its Ecuadorian folk art, alpaca blankets, and leather goods. I feel so lucky to have found this treasure in Quito!

We had a wonderful 2 1/2-month stay at Tamayo. Cathy has beautiful taste and the apartment is charming, filled with sunlight, and quiet in a lovely residential neighborhood within a short walk of public transportation, restaurants, and Supermaxi for groceries. Tamayo is right next to La Casa de la Cultura and is only a 10-minute walk from Plaza Foch. It's less than 3 minutes from the Mercado with alpaca ponchos, blankets, scarves, as well as Panama hats, leather goods, and every folk art treasure you could find at Otavalo. Cathy was a dream host. I will definitely stay at Tamayo when I return to Quito.

My wife and I stayed in the flat for slightly more than four months. We found it well maintained, nicely furnished and very comfortable. We had only one problem; the wifi wasn't working when we arrived. One phone call to the owner's agent and it was fixed the same day. The owner, her Quito-based agent, and the entire building staff made us feel very welcome. It is a great place for a visitor who has business in Ecuador or a tourist looking for central base from which to explore Quito and its environs. Its location is ideal as it is close to many fine and varied restaurants, coffee shops and bars. It is a short taxi ride from Quito's Old Town district. I recommend it without reservation and will rent it again when the opportunity arises.

I spent two months at the apartment. It was a great temporary home in Quito. The building is fairly new. The apartment is nicely decorated. The bed and sofas are comfortable. The wi-fi is fast. I was working remotely while I was there and had no trouble doing that at the apartment. I felt safe there, in the building and in the neighborhood. The location was really convenient. I never found myself wishing I was staying in a different location. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. There's a nice park a few blocks away. It's a block to a main street where you can catch a taxi or the ecovia bus line, which goes to the old town and also to the the airport bus. The nightlife area of La Mariscal is several blocks away, convenient if you want to go out but far enough that there's no bar traffic or noise. It was pretty quiet there most of the time. I never met Cathy, the owner, because she was out of the country, but her friend Moana was helpful and friendly. When I arrived she had a map for me with nearest supermarkets marked and some info on things to do in Quito. One day the internet wasn't working, and Moana got the problem resolved quickly. Aside from that I didn't have any problems there. All in all a great stay.

Property was clean and new. Excellent manager service. Friendly people in the buillding. (This is a private residence.) Locals told me the taxi drivers charge a little more in that area because they think they can get it in an upscale area. It is close to everything. Would not hesitate to stay here again in Quito. Art Student Daughter loved the decor of the apartment. Easy checkin and checkout. I stayed one night in a 5 star hotel and would have preferred to spend the whole time in the apartment.
