On the deck overlooking the lake, feel free to relax with a good book while catching some rays, or perhaps enjoy a romantic evening under the stars while treating yourself to a crisp glass of Riesling and a sampling of local Oregon cheeses. When it's time to turn in, head up to the upper-level loft, where you'll find a comfortable queen-sized bed, another television, and a small sitting area where you can fill out your postcards or finish that crossword puzzle while sipping on coffee. Downstairs, the kids will love being able to spread out on the futons while waking up the sunshine trickling in through the trees. There is also one full bathroom with a soaking tub, perfect for relaxing those sore muscles after a day of adventure. And though you may enjoy the feeling of being away from it all, you'll still have conveniences like a washer and dryer for your use!

The location is perfect. Just enough off the beaten path, and yet close enough to quickly drive to town. This place is on Lake Mercer with its own dock. The location alone is worth the stay. Small and cozy, but feels spacious at the same time with vaulted ceilings and a large bathroom.
Beautiful view. Needs deck fixed, several loose boards...
Great location right on the lake
The home worked well for our needs except for the walkway to the dock which is extremely dangerous. There is no safe way to get to the dock unfortunately, which is one reason to rent this home.
House has a great location and beautiful view of the lake. House is in need of some upgrades and maintenance, but overall, we would stay here again.
Being with my family and the weather was great.
I have been using Vacasa for years and have generally enjoyed the the places we have stayed. We are a family of 6 and love finding little getaways here and there. So when we found this place on Mercer Lake we were sooo excited to have our own dock and be able to enjoy the lake we have been coming to for 5 years now. This rental was easy to find and has a quaint quality to it. Our issues started when we entered the house. The first thing was the cobwebs that were everywhere inside the home. It instantly gave us a not clean feeling which grew as we walked the house. I took pictures and documented everything and sent them to vacasa when asked about the cleanliness. The fan and lights in the living room did not work, the bathroom lights worked sometimes but not all the time. One of the mirrored closet doors in the bathroom was off the track and left leaning against the other door. The blinds next to the table were very dirty with food particles on some of them. Going up into the loft there are pee stains on the steps, and I thought pee stains on the carpet in numerous locations. After taking a closer look we realized these were wet, very recent urine spots that were not cleaned. Additionally there is a battered dog bed in the loft that was also severly pee stained and ripped up. This led me to the bedding which was also stained and the comforter was ripped in several areas. There is a table in the bedroom that is also surrounded by windowed walls. These blinds were also caked with dirt and splatters of things. The walls in the loft especially were dirty and cobwebs were everywhere. The fan in the loft worked but none of the surrounding cans lights did. We were afraid to turn on the fan however as we didn't want to get showered with cobwebs and dirt. I was contacted immediately when I gave the cleanliness a 1 via text. I submitted pictures and was told someone would contact me. When I asked if we should try to find other accommodations it was ignored and I was told I would be contacted. Since it was already so late I pulled out the couch bed and futon for the kids and they used their own pillows and blankets. I took the bedding off the bed upstairs and washed them for our use and the mattress itself looked relatively clean. We slept there and kept all of our belongings downstairs. The next day I was texted a message saying we could go ahead and leave a night early and get a 1 night refund. After cutting into our family time to try and find another place to stay we were unable to find anything and realized we would have to stay the second night. I texted and asked to be contacted about our experience and that I felt something should be done. I was told it would be forwarded to management and 2 days later I still have heard nothing. Lastly the boards on the back deck are rotting and when you step on them they take a pretty big dip causing you to lose your footing. We had 2 kids stumble and fall before we identified the woods weakness. So long story long.. this house had a good view and if you don't break your neck getting to the dock it is awesome but it needs ALOT of elbow grease and tlc to get it up to the standard that I feel should be there for all vacation rentals.
1st) Upon arrival found trash strewn across parking space. Had to clean that up. 2nd) Upon entry, knew immediately the place was filthy. If anything was cleaned it would have been the counter tops and stove but, I'm not fully confident in that. 3rd) Upon inspection, found the fluorescent lighting in both the kitchen and bathroom are in need or replacement. 4th) The electrical outlet by the sliding glass door needs replacement. 5th) The window coverings are filthy and in need of repair/replacement 6th) The window covering for the sliding glass door is missing slats and does not have a pull or closure arm. 7th) There is black soot on the face of the fireplace and up the wall 8th) There was ash in several places on the hearth 9th) The TV stand was covered with dust 10th) There was animal hair everywhere. When I vacuumed the floor and moved the furniture to vacuum under there, I found quite a bit of animal hair 11th) The vacuum cleaner is missing a wheel making it inefficient 12th) There was dog kibble in the sill pan of the water heater and the water heater closet is filthy 13th) The vinyl surrounding the step to the bathtub is peeling off on the shower side 14th) The back deck has several planks that feel as though they are ready to give way at anytime. Dangerous! 15th) The path to the dock is treacherous and not mentioned in the listing as being inaccessible for handicap persons 16th) The dock with the park bench on it is nearing collapse 17th) The dock is in disrepair 18th) The stairs to the dock are so badly disintegrated that they are exceedingly dangerous to use Overall, this location should not be offered for rent in its present state and I am very displeased that I paid a premium for something so run down and dirty. This is not that caliber of I have come to expect of Vacasa and I did expect better. I am, therefore, requesting full reimbursement of the cleaning and booking fees I was charged for this property. Thank you kindly. Sue MS Matson
Needs work on dishwasher, kitchen counter, deck rails, & trail . Super quite, the best view of the lake. Very relaxing. We loved it and we will book again.
House square footage misleading and inaccurate. Listed at 1590 sq foot. Actual is less than 1000. Pathway to dock is treacherous and needs to be rebuilt. Half the lights in house inoperative. Dishwasher needs to be reset and stabilized. Exterior of windows dirty and cobwebbed. Overall property is tired and not well attended for the price of the rental.
The property is extremely rundown and neglected. We found multiple issues upon our arrival. For some reason, the back door screen was detached and just sitting outside on the ground. Some of the blinds were damaged/missing. There were several feces/urine stains on the carpet upstairs. Some of the lights did not work (both inside and outside). Also, a more secure trash bin is recommended, as the bin outside was dragged at night by a large animal (presumably a bear). Luckily, out car did not get damaged as a result of it. I am giving 2 starts for the lake which we enjoyed. Thank you.
This was such a wonderful place to stay. All the comforts of home, and then some. Nestled privately in beautiful, old, tall cedars. We fished our hearts out, swam for hours right off the private dock. Then bbq’d on their nice BBQ that already had propane. We want to make this our new annual lake house trip. My entire family loved every second of it!! We didn’t want to leave.
The beautiful lakeside setting and nearness to the coast made for a relaxing and restful retreat for us. The wood fireplace was thoroughly enjoyed after a day walking the coastline!
My husband and I (and our dogs) had a very relaxing stay on Mercer Lake. It's in a great location just a short drive to the Ocean Dunes Golf Course and the South Jetty area of the Oregon Dunes, and withing walking distance to the the Darlingtonia Natural Site. There are amazing lake views out of every window in the house. The kitchen is well-equipped and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Update to earlier reviews -- there's now a newer television with streaming services. One of the futons has been replaced with a couch. The house still needs a few minor repairs, but overall it's very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly.
This cabin is spacious, clean, has a great setting and view, quiet. The private dock can be somewhat challenging for older folks to get down to. We loved this place and will recommend it to others.
