beautiful apt (180m2) with wonderful views across the bay from Sestri Levante

A large aparment with a superb view on Sestri Levante's bay. Plus: great view, large apartment, nice terrace, wel equipped, various rooms Minus: the train station is in the centre in front of the house. It prevents sleeping with the window open. The other minus is the large number and steps to climb to go to the apartment. It caused us not to go out as often as we would normally do. The steps are doable but can lead to some sweating in the heat.

This property is right for some people and definitely wrong for others. Unfortunately, it was wrong for us. There are 180 steep steps to reach the house from the parking space. There is no other way up. I believe it would be most honest to warn people of this in the listing, which is the point at which people will be making the decision, but the listing makes no mention of it. After we arrived and discovered this issue, when I asked about it, the property manager told me I had been informed in an email. Sure enough, she had mentioned it in an email, but it was buried at the bottom of a very long email, most of which was unimportant duplicative information. I take responsibility for missing this crucial fact, but I do think it would be more honest to state it up front in the listing itself. The house is very nice, classic Italian mid-century design, mostly well-maintained. The view is spectacular. Although there are other houses on the same hillside, it's mostly woodland, and mosquitos are an issue. If the steps don't bother you, and if you're not the first person that the mosquitos go for, then this is a nice place to stay.

Main problem with property is the noise from the trains

Beautiful house with breathtaking views. We (2 adults+2 teenagers) spent 10 wonderful days there. The house is located at walking distance from the beach and offers a private parking. The rooms are big and comfortable, opening up to terraces with wonderful views. There are some 180 steps leading to the house after you park your car. It seems a lot but is manageable and a bit of training always helps :) All of our questions were handled extremely professionally and timely by the agency (thank you Annette) and we had the privilege to meet our wonderful host in person, Roberta who gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, places to visit etc. Overall, we would highly recommend this house.

Instantly felt like this was a place we could call home. The yellow accents with the azure blue floor is a true reflection of Sestri Levante, a drop of the sea is in the house of Signora Roberta.

We, 2 adults and three young adults spent a very enjoyable week at Villa Roberta in Sestri Levante. Roberta was very nice and helpful so all the organizational stuff went down smoothly. The house is situated at about 5 min walking distance from the next beach and all the shops can be reached by foot in about 15 min so we did not have to use our car to go shopping or swimming. Sestri Levante is a charming smalltown next to the sea and its shops and restaurants are well worth a visit. All in all: a highly recommended place to spent a holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Roberta. Although the villa is quite a steep walk the views are worth the effort. We were warmly welcomed by the owners with a bottle of wine. The fantastic villa is very comfortable and well appointed although some of the garden furniture and parts of the kitchen are looking tired. We cooked most days so would have appreciated more cooking pans. We had many meals sitting out on the terrace from where we had one of the best views over Sestri Levante. There were four of us in our party with two cars however there is only parking for one car in a tight and steep space. There is so much to do in the area from the Cinque Terra to the Portofino peninsula that we were sad to leave after only one week. We would highly recommend Villa Roberta to our friends and would love to come back one day.

We selected this house for our holiday because it was in the same town as our friends that we were visiting. Best holiday decision. These pictures don't do it justice. The house is very spacious, and so comfortable. We love the large balconies, and the view is magnificent! Truly a gorgeous view. The view is gorgeous day and night. We stayed for 1 week, and would definitely return and highly recommend the house and Sestri Levante to any visitor. The 186 steps to the house is tough, but worth every step once you are on the balcony. Our 5 year old daughter did not complain during any of the walk up. She even enjoyed making a game out of the greenery and flowers that line the walk-way. We had good weather with a few minor sprinkles here & there, but imagine may not be such a pleasant trek in major showers. But once you arrive at the house, it is so relaxing and comfortable, you'd enjoy no matter what the weather is like outside. Suggest you pack lightly for your stay. Sestri Levante is such a charming seaside town, and so easily accessible to Cinque Terre, Santa Margherite and Portofino by train/bus and easy drive to Pisa (1.5 hrs), Florence (2 hrs) and the designer outlets south of Florence.
