Other things to note
This is a first floor apartment; there are two other units in the building. Quiet for the most part with normal muffled noise from other tenants. Street is busy but apartment extremely quiet, virtually no outside noise heard especially in bedrooms.
felt like home everyday
Great location, wonderful apartment within walking distance of some nice restaurants. Visited the Frick Museum which was close by during our stay. Parked on the side street as suggested which was not a far walk to the apartment and much safer than the main street. So thankful for the snacks. They were very much appreciated.
Well stocked, very clean and comfortable apartment in Regent Square. Very close proximity to family, restaurants and sites. Jon was extremely accessible and checked on us after a 1am check in due to our late flight. Proximity to Frick Park and plenty of activities. The apartment was perfect!
The property is exactly as advertised. Perfect spot next to a beautiful park and easily walkable restaurants and coffee shops. As everyone else mentioned in other reviews, the property is stocked with just about anything you’d need. Seriously. It was incredible. I’ve never stayed in a m VRBO that was as stocked. Takes a ton of the stress away from traveling!
A modernized older house with an authentic Pittsburgh vibe that has the same qualities as the people within the neighborhood. From cabinets, refrigerator to the bar that was very well stocked in a neighborhood that was Pittsburgh through and through with its shops and park just across the street.
This property was exactly the home away from home we had been hoping for during our visit to Pittsburgh. Jon thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable and welcoming, and this was one of the most thoughtfully-appointed properties we’ve ever stayed in, perfect for a small family gathering or as a home base to explore. The location was convenient for getting around town and easily walkable to Frick Park (across the street) and neighborhood restaurants a short distance away. We will definitely look to stay again when we return to Pittsburgh, and we are grateful for the hospitality.
In love with this location before I even arrived, but even better in real life. Right across from beautiful Frick Park that has everything from hiking, nature, playgrounds, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and more, right in the middle of all the places we wanted to visit. Easy street parking. Great food/drinks at Dive Bar like 3 houses down (karaoke and trivia nights there too)! Beyond all of that, I can't get enough of old houses: big wooden doors, original hardwood flooring, fancy doorknobs, high ceilings arches, etc. Stained Glass windows and 4 poster bed in main bedroom. Host clearly cares a LOT about every detail...vintage and antique furniture and decor, trinkets, art, treasures...makes you feel truly AT HOME, comfortable, and in need of nothing. FULL super stocked open bar...complete with a fridge full of little bottles of drinks and mixers, lots of them...seltzer water, ginger ale, orange juice, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, etc. There was cereal, milk, frozen entrees, crackers, organic bananas, assorted yogurts, pancake/waffle mix, eggs, even bacon. Condiments. Coffee. Every little kitchen gadget you might need. Let's see...bathroom...big soft towels, plenty of them, stocked medicine cabinet with everything from Tylenol to Imodium AD to antibiotic ointment, q tips, bandaids, hair ties...everything! On top of that SUPER clear instructions on everything from the remote, to the door lock, to anything you might need to know. Host SUPER responsive, fast & friendly!
This is the second time we have stayed in Jon’s extra special apartment. We sleep great and have everything we need and so much more. Jon is an amazing host.
It is a home away from home. We stayed for 5 weeks as our daughter just have a baby. Our friends visited us and stayed for a weekend. Our other children also visited another time and stay at the house as well. Excellent location for walking to quite a few good restaurants, an excellent bakery! Right across the Frick Park where there are play grounds, tennis courts, baseball courts, pickle ball courts, extensive walking) running trails.Easy driving distance to every things that Pittsburgh has to offer. Jon is also very responsive to any inquiries that we had. Overall, you will not be disappointed to stay at Jon' s house.
We had such a wonderful stay at Jon's lovely home last year that we decided to come back again! We were four adults and were very comfortable in the two lovely bedrooms. Jon fully stocked the kitchen, so we didn't even need to do groceries when we first arrived. The apartment is cozy and well-appointed - we're always impressed at all of the thoughtful touches. Frick Park is right across the street, and we enjoyed walking along the trails every day. There isn't dedicated parking, but we never had a problem parking around the corner. Great restaurants and cafes are just down the street, and the location has easy access to I-376. Jon's guide to the apartment has all of the information you need about the apartment and the location to make you feel like a local, even if you've never been to Pittsburgh before.
The apartment was large, clean and had everything we needed, and more. We already have another stay booked!
I can’t say enough positive things about this property and host. The details are what made the place special: The kitchen was clean and neatly organized with virtually everything needed to cook and eat comfortably. There wasn’t a dishwasher, but that’s not a big deal for us. The fridge and pantry were stocked with essential items any weary traveler would be delighted to see after a long journey: Half & half for coffee, a few sodas, some cheese, crackers, wine, spices, cooking oil, sugar, etc. The bathroom medicine cabinet had spare toothpaste and other useful sundries. There was a very thorough reference handbook discussing every aspect of the property (lights, climate control, appliances), and offering great suggestions for the Pittsburgh area. The apartment itself is small, but with a compelling charm: Tall ceilings, antique furniture, artwork, stained glass in the bedroom window, and other special touches contribute to its uniquely “homey” feel. All amenities were well-maintained, clean and functional. There was plenty of room in closets and drawers. Something to be aware of is that there’s no dedicated parking. You’ll have to hunt for a space nearby, and the street this house is on can get super busy. Also, you can hear your upstairs neighbors walking around: It’s an old, creaky house. It’s clear that careful thought and attention were given to making sure I had a comfortable stay, and that is appreciated. This is the benchmark all other hosts should aspire to! It was hands down the most welcome I’ve ever felt at any short-term vacation property.
Not modern but everything you need
The apartment is just beautiful with comfortable surroundings and lovely antiques. The hospitality Jon provides is top notch. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of snacks and beverages provided for our use. A great place to stay while seeing the sights of the city.
We had a phenomenal stay at Jon's apartment - we were a family of four adults, and we've never had a more comfortable Vrbo experience. The location is super convenient for driving around Pittsburgh, and having Frick Park across the street was amazing. Great food and drink were within walking distance, and the kitchen was fully stocked when we arrived. The apartment is spacious and so beautifully and thoughtfully decorated - it really did feel like home. Jon was so gracious and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was stress-free. We made great use of the card deck and the multiple chargers next to the beds. Jon also provided lots of food and sightseeing recommendations. We cannot recommend these accommodations enough, and couldn't stop raving to our friends about how much we loved our stay.
