Beautiful 2 Bedroom Apartment in Allentown Center - Enhanced Cleaning

We were in Allentown for a family event. Thankfully most of our time was spent at my sister's house. The location of the apartment was in an undesirable section of the city. In addition to the air conditioner being a window console that was loud, we found the accommodations to be less than what we have experienced with other rentals. I had asked about location from the beginning. We were not given a neighborhood or cross streets and now I know why. For the amount of time we stayed at the apartment, we should have just rented hotel rooms. The nicest thing I can say is that the towels were nice and plush. The bathroom door, which was a pocket door did not shut. Not having TVs in bedrooms, having furniture too large for the main space and having a less than desirable kitchen added to the neighborhood. Honestly, the price should definitely be less given the location, etc. Don't stay there!

The property is one of a line of rowhouses. The exterior was littered with trash, beer bottles and the the next door adjacent porch had dirty diapers and all kind of trash. The building is a once wonderful building that is attempting to upgrade but is really not ready to rent. The smoke alarms are covered with pink plastic and inoperable - which I think is against the law. Inside the unit is in process. The kitchen is done, but there were 6 windows with broken locks. one at sidewalk level that anyone could climb in. We arrived and showered - BUT there were no towels - had to wipe off with our own clothes. SERIOUSLY !?There was no soap, so we showered with our own shampoo !! No paper towels and the powder room door had no lock and didn't even close - just a door ajar. When we called to complain someone was sent over to provide towels but still no soap. We had originally booked a different unit from this landlord who asked if we would be willing to take a this unit - we said no problem. When our stay was lengthened we asked to stay longer but were told that we would have to move to the originally rented unit. After our experience we told him we didn't want to stay in another of his units and booked a hotel instead. He acted like he understood and told us he would refund our money for the second property, A week later and no refund - not only no refund he is now saying that we should have Just moved out the first night we were at the first property if we wanted a refund. A TOTAL RIP OFF ARTIST !

We had a very relaxing stay in this lovely home just on the edge of the city! It had everything we needed and the owner was quick to respond. It was easy to get to and a short drive to ski resorts. We would definitely go again!

We loved the mix of old world charm, luxurious comfort and modern convenience. Gorgeously furnished and well-decorated, high quality mattresses, linens, towels, dinnerware with lots of a/c and ceiling fans, cozy, romantic, a real gem! Some of the pots were worn out, but we still give it 5 stars overall! Thank you, Baliji!
