Pros: - very well located property, it was only a few minutes walk down the hill to the water, and very close to the shopping area - extremely well-equipped kitchen - interior of unit just as shown in the photos - Membership passes to the hotel spa (close to the property) was useful (especially when weather was bad) - Garage in the property is helpful as parking is difficult in Salcombe - Great shower - Lovely decor, fast wifi - Welcome pack was a nice touch Cons: - The parking is very cramped due to a poorly designed garage. It would be extremely difficult for large cars to park and unimaginable if all the spots were taken (spots left and right to us were empty during our stay). - The exterior wall of the living room abuts a large patio with BBQ and two sets of outdoor furniture. If you can climb out the living room window, you will be standing on that patio. That belongs to another unit in the property. If it is in use in the high season, there will be noise and privacy issues. - The next property is undergoing extensive construction. From the living room window, there is a close view of the construction site and the workers do start early. Not a big issue for us as it rained quite a lot during our stay and not much work was going on. It did look like it will take a very long time still. - Very minor issues with heating and broken light. A lot of sand on the sofa, which we vacuumed up ourselves. Overall I think it is a fine stay for the low season but potentially not as good in high season.

Whilst not a big property, it has plenty of room for four people. It is well appointed, with a high level of cleanliness. We wanted for nothing especially in the kitchen, which is well equipped. We were there in September and were able to make use of the balcony until late afternoon to make the most of the sun. Whilst close to centre of Salcombe, it is worth noting that it is part way up quite a steep hill.

The property was clean and comfortable and the welcome pack had the essentials to tide guests over prior to doing a shop. Access to the property could have been better if a representative of Salcombe Abode could have been present as obtaining the keys from a locked secure box was a faff. Parking in the under ground car park was very tight and a number of manoeuvres back and forth had to be made in order to enter and exit. We had a small SUV and would suspect that a larger vehicle would be difficult to park. Fortunately there were no residents in apartments 1 and 3 car spaces. It was a disappointment that the upstairs apartment had its own balcony area directly in front of the Beach View lounge windows affording a view straight into the lounge which invited the upstairs occupants to stare into the apartment when using their area. In fact we had to drop the blinds down when they were barbecuing as they seemed more interested in watching us.The access to the Spa and pool was very welcome. In our opinion emphasis should be made about the garaging when advertising the property and also that for new visitors to Salcombe it is very steep when moving about on foot. We are in our seventies and found it challenging when visiting the town centre. We left three days early as we found that Salcombe was not for us. Rae Goulding.

Overall very good, but it should be good at the price. Nothing really to complain about. We enjoyed our stay a lot.
