Ocean’s Edge – Anchor Pier Lodge - Meredith Lodging

You’ll find yourself literally on the ocean’s edge when you enjoy a stay in this pretty waterfront studio, but what an edge! Your private deck overlooks the stunningly beautiful Yaquina Bay and its busy harbor with an endless parade of fishing boats, sea lions, and seabirds cruising by. To top it off, Ocean’s Edge has a jetted spa tub looking out to the water, so you can soak away your cares as you watchgulls wheeling in the sky. A gas fireplace will keep you cozy in the evenings, and a kitchenette gives you a coffee station, microwave, and fridge for snacks and breakfast.

Newport’s Historic Bayfront is right out your door, with a smorgasbord of eating options, colorful murals, and unique shops; the bustle of activity as the day’s catch comes in off the boats reminds you that this is a working marine town. Enjoy seafood from Clearwater Restaurant, Local Ocean, or Ocean Bleu Seafoods at Gino’s, or bar fare from Rogue Ales Bayfront Public House or the Barge Inn Tavern. Walk further down the Bayfront to see the marina full of fishing boats, or up the hill to enjoy learning about the area’s history in the Pacific Maritime and Heritage Center. Hop in the car, and the Yaquina Lighthouse, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Hatfield Marine Science Center, and Nye Beach are minutes away. After you catch the sunset at the beach, you’ll happily return to your cozy studio, switch on the sound machine to mute the barking of sea lions and drift off to rejuvenating sleep for your next round of coastal exploration.

Anchor Pier Lodge has five adjoining homes, so you can invite your friends to join you at Coastal Garden, Bayfront History, Surfer Dude, or Captain’s Quarters!

Great location. Clean room. Amazing view. Responsive host. No table. No cute red patio chairs that were in all the marketing photos. Read the stuff about the freaking sea lions barking all night long. They offer ear plugs which helped.

Great stay. Sea lions barked but were steady and made it like white noise. The stay was great.

We enjoyed our weekend stay thoroughly - the view was great, the room was clean, and had all the amenities we wanted (a coffee maker, fridge, microwave aren't shown in the photos but they're there). It took a little getting used to the seals and sea lions next door who bark all hours of the day, but after the first day it was just background noise. I recommend putting the fan that's in the closet in the doorway during the day to bring in the cooler air so you can close the door at night. It was super nice to relax in the tub and stare off the patio. You're right in the middle of the action once you step out the door, the dive bar across the street was great and there were great restaurants all over the place. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Ok, this was a charming room with a great view. But… the stairs getting to it are Steep! The little fireplace has a pilot light that is always on, which makes you have to sleep with the door open, which makes it so you can really REALLY hear the sea lions. With the door shut, it cuts the noise by quite a bit. But they honk and snarl all night, and the room is hot because of the fireplace. So door open. The tub was awesome, and the view was great. We accidentally left our laptop and the staff worked their hineys off to help us.

Fun place on the water with the Sea Lions next door. Close to food, drink and activities.
