THE VILLA

Our seaside villa consists of two fully separate apartments/floors, each with its own entrance, of which our spacious ground floor apartment is rented out with exclusive use of the swimming pool and garden. The apartment on the second floor is no longer rented out separately.

If guests however wish to occupy both apartments (for instance the parents on the second floor and the children at ground floor, or more than 5 guests in total), this can also be arranged at an extra cost. Please contact us for more details.

THE APARTMENT

We are situated on the beautiful Athenian Riviera, south of Athens center, located in a quiet street in the lovely village of Lagonisi, at just a 500 meter walk from a lovely organized sandy beach.

NB: The marker on the map is not 100% correct. The reason for this is that there are two streets with the same name in our village and Google automatically picks the wrong one. We are located much closer to the coast, at a 500m (7 minute) walk from the main coastal road and the closest beach.

This apartment on the ground floor in a fully detached villa, has a private swimming pool, with 4 loungebeds and a umbrella, a sunny 170m2/1830ft2 lawn garden with a wooden table and 4 chairs, which also has an umbrella.

It also has a 100m2/1076ft2 enclosed front courtyard, ideal for children to play, with a smaller table and 4 chairs.

This (90m2/978ft2) apartment consists of a large living room with an open fireplace. It has an adjoining dining space near to the kitchen, with a table for 6 persons and chairs.

The living area has two large relax chairs, a three person chouch and a two person comfortable sofa bed/couch, TV set and airco, which covers the whole area, incl. the kitchen.

The kitchen, which has access to the garden, has all kitchen utensils needed (knives, forks, spoons, cups, pans, plates etc.), a fridge, a microwave, a coffee machine, a 4 pit electric cooker plus oven etc.

Bedroom 1, overlooking the garden and swimming pool, has a double bed, several large wardrobes and airco.

Bedroom 2, overlooking the front enclosed courtyard, has two single beds (one extra third single bed can be added), several large wardrobes and airco.

The spacious bathroom has a large bath, shower, toilet and washing machine.

OUR AREA: THE ATHENIAN RIVIERA

Just south of the hustle and bustle of central Athens, lies one of the city’s most treasured assets, also known as “Greece’s best kept secret”: “The Athenian Riviera”, which is the west coast of the Attica penisula.

Contrary to the east coast of the Attica penisula (the area from Marathon to Lavrio), where the sun sets landinwards, on the Riviera the sun set into the sea, offering long sunny days at the beach.

Some of the best sandy beaches in Greece, all with lounge beds and sun umbrellas, are at a short walking distance from the Villa.
In fact 3 lovely organized sandy beaches, one with a small children's playground (Aghios Nikolaos) and all with nice beach restaurants, are just down the road at short walking distance and are awaiting you.
The closest beach is at just a 500 meter walk (the others are at a 8 and 10 minute walk).
All 3 beaches are operational from May 1 to October 31; one beach (Bali beach) stays open all year round.

Many more sandy but also rocky beaches, both secluded and organized, can be found all along the south Athens Riviera coastal line, from Varkiza, down to our village Lagonisi.

At just a short walk from the villa are a supermarket and, a seaside cafeteriabakery and a Greek seaside Taverna/restaurant.

The main street of our village, with supermarkets, shops, cafeteria's and restaurants is at just 1.5 km -1 mile; about a 15 minute walk.

There are many interesting places to visit on the Riviera, all easily reachable with public transport from our place, such as: Varkiza, the lively fishing village with its nice seaside walking boulevard, restaurants and Varkiza Resort beach.

The impressive Vouliagmeni cave lake resort, where one can swim in lukewarm healing water all year round.

The posh Vouliagmeni area, home of the rich and famous.

The cosmopolitan city of Glyfada, with its many high class shops of all kinds, cafeteria's and seaside walk.

An absolute must is Cape Sounion with the impressive Temple of Poseidon, famous its magical sunset.

The east coast, at a 30 minute car drive from our place, offers the picturesque village of Porto Rafti, with its lovely bay and walking boulevard full of restaurants. Vravrona, has the ancient Temple of Artemis, the Greek goddess of hunt and nature. Other places of interest are the lively ports of Lavrio and Rafina etc.

ATHENS

On the other hand however you are also “just around the corner” from Athens center, one of Europe's oldest and most interesting cities,

Athens center is easily accessible by public transport. The 122 Athens urban bus, which passes every 25 minutes, takes you along the beautiful coastal road straight to the metro station, from which it is just a few stops to the Acropolis. The trip by bus and metro to Athens center takes a little over 1 hour.

A 5 day unlimited travel card for both the Athenian 122 bus and the Athens metro, only costs 9 euro.

Apart from the famous Acropolis, the city also offers a number of other large impressive ancient sites, where one feels like taking a journey back into time.

Little electric street trains, open air double deck “hop on hop off” buses, horse carts, stand up mopeds and family bike carts, are just a few of the means available to explore the unique Athens center around the Acropolis. The new impressive Acropolis museum, which has been voted as one of the best museums in the world, is a “must”.

The world famous Plaka Athens tourist area, with its many narrow roads full of little shops and restaurants with live music, is considered to be one of the best tourist areas of any city in Europe and is an “obligatory visit”, both during the day as well as in the evening; experiencing that special “Athens by Night” feeling !

Lycabettus hill truly is impressive, offering a stunning view of the city. The “Teleferic” train, takes you up the hill though a tunnel inside (!) the mountain, where you can sit at the top restaurant and have a magnificent view over the city all the way to Piraeus harbor.

One must also visit the parliament building with the traditional Greek guards and of course let's not forget the lively center of modern Athens itself, with a its colorful neighborhoods and famous nightlife.

The picturesque Mikrolimano harbour in Piraeus (40 minutes by car from the villa), also is a tourist favorite.

The beautiful Saronic Gulf Islands: Aegina, Hydra and Spetses, are also easy to visit on day trips.

ONE DAY EXCURSIONS

If you like to explore our area and visit some of the most beautiful ancient sites of Greece, many interesting day trips can be made by car from the villa.

We also organize private guided one day trips by Mercedes car to the below.

- The Athenian Riviera: with the temple of Poseidon famous for its magical sunset, the beautiful Vouliagmeni cave lake and the lively sailing port of Lavrio, for a stroll along the seaside boulevard and (possibly) dinner.

- East Attica: this tour gives you the opportunity to visit the amazing Koutouki Cave, the largest of its kind in Greece (or alternatively the Byzantine mountain forrest monastery of Kessariani), the temple of Artemis (Diana), the ancient goddess of Hunt and Nature in Vravrona and its wonderful museum and end the day with a stroll and dinner in the picturesque bay of Porto Rafti. with its nice seaside boulevard and fishing harbor;... just like being on a Greek island !

Next, we visit the sanctuary of Hera the queen of the Olympian gods and wife of Zeus, goddess of women and marriage, located in a beautiful bay at Cape Malagavi in Loutraki. We then go to the Loutraki Blue Lake, a place of great natural beauty and end our tour with a visit to lively center of the holiday resort of Loutraki, for a walk around town and (possibly) dinner.

We had a lovely stay! The place was very clean and had everything we needed. It is located a 10min walk to 3 wonderful beaches, a delicious bakery and a grocery store. Our host, Con, was very attentive and very prompt with his communication. He picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. He also led us in a couple of day trips for an extra fee - it was nice to have help from someone local. Overall, would highly recommend the place!

We had a great stay at the ground floor apartment, it was exactly as described, clean and in a family friendly location. Con was extremely helpful and organised a local boat trip for us that suited our young son. He respected our privacy but was prompt on responding to any question we had either about the accommodation or about Attica area with useful tips and local knowledge. We would highly recommend both the accommodation and the hosts.

The apartment was comfortable with 2 good sized bedrooms. The bathroom has ample hot water, however in the absence of a plug for the bath or an attachment for the shower head we couldn’t wash/refresh ourselves adequately, this was rather annoying & we did let the host know this was a problem. The location is great for relaxing at one of the 3 local beaches, all within easy walking distance. We visited 2 of them where beds and umbrellas are available to rent for 20€ a day. Tahiti beach was the best and is near to a wonderful bakery and the supermarket. The host was very accommodating, picking us up from the airport. We also did a couple of his tours which were great and very informative & this enabled us to get our bearings. The day we went into Athens, to see the Acropolis he took us to the nearest metro station which was about half an hour drive, the metro into Athens from there took about 20 mins. Vrbo confirms the location on the advert is not accurate, however the apartment location is very near Souniou Avenue 205. Going further afield independently would have been challenging, had the host not been so accommodating. Overall we had a good rest.

We enjoyed the stay very much. Con is a great host and picked us up straight from the airport. He also drove us to the supermarket so that we were immediately stocked with food for the first days. He also offered us various tours with him as a tour guide, which we could take as we wished. We decided on the Athens tour, which was really great and enriching for us. Con knows a lot about Greece with its culture and history and takes a lot of time for his guests. He showed us some really beautiful places that are rarely discovered by normal tourists. The apartment is very clean and well maintained, and the private pool in the garden is also really great. Also worth mentioning is the air conditioning, which made the nights very comfortable. There is also a very well-kept kitchen with everything you need for cooking and a cozy living room. Con speaks several languages fluently, so it was very pleasant for us as Germans to be able to talk to him without any language barriers. He valued our privacy very much, but was always available if we had any questions. The beach and sea were beautiful and within walking distance, as were supermarkets and restaurants. The holiday in Lagonisi combines the best of two worlds, on the one hand the great beach holiday, on the other hand you can experience a lot of Greek culture, especially Athens and the Acropolis was a real highlight for us. Thank you Con for this great holiday, we can recommend your apartment wholeheartedly!

The apartment was lovely and spacious and suited our family perfectly. We particularly enjoyed the pool and garden where there was always some shade. We were also grateful for the air con in the bedrooms as it was very hot for our stay. Con was an incredible host going above and beyond at every opportunity. Communication was amazing from the moment we booked and nothing was too much trouble. He picked us up from the metro and drove us to the apartment, spent time showing us the local area and beaches and even took us to the supermarket to stock up on food. Con also helped us find an apartment for a couple of days Stay in Athens and we really enjoyed his walking tour around the city. Thank you Con, you are one of a kind!

What can I say, this is one of the best stays I have had. Kon the owner and his family were wonderful and so helpful. He met us at the airport to ensure that there were no problems getting to the apartment. He then had a load of trips and suggestions which he could either take us to (which I would recommend as his knowledge was immense on the area) He took us to an unknown tourist place in the middle of Athens which looked like you were on an island. The cost of these tours were such good value much cheaper than the tourist organised ones which rush you and have no real knowledge of the area, however if you wish to go it alone that's also fine. He is great as he respects your privacy also and you can use his knowledge as much or as little as you wish thus providing a great balance for all. If all you want to do is chill by the pool there is no issue or pressure to do anything. Absolutely perfect for all types of travellers. I'd definitely go back and would recommend this accommodation.

I cannot say enough about our trip. From the booking process to our departure, our host Con made it seamless and stress free. From pick up at the airport, to taking us to the supermarket and acting as our tour guide on some of his stunning day tours. It truly was an amazing holiday! The property itself was awesome, with a full Kitchen, 2 bedrooms, good size bathroom. It has more than enough space, and a back yard to relax in at the end of our day, with a pool!! It is close to the supermarket, local bakery and only 7 minute walk to some of the most beautiful little beaches. Con offers several choices for amazing 1/2 day and full day tours, at extremely reasonable prices which we took full advantage of! In just 5 days in Athens we were able to do a full day walking tour, and 2 other tours which took us to some of the most beautiful sites , ruins and scenes in and around Athens. This property and our host made our girls trip even better than I could have hoped for. You will not be disappointed! I hope to plan my next trip with my family back to our new friends very soon !!
