Nashville, Indiana
According to the dictionary, the word 'serenity' means “the state of being calm, peaceful, untroubled”. You may capture that feeling in this quiet, twenty-acre setting where a 1930's-era log cabin/partial-frame construction home is your respite from the world.
Bigger than it looks from the road, Serenity Log Cabin has three bedrooms, two baths, four-season room and a screened porch, with a large deck overlooking 3 ponds with a park-like setting. Nashville, Helmsburg, and Bean Blossom are all within a 10-minute drive of this cabin, but you'll feel as though you're a million miles from crowds and calamity.
Authentic cabin touches such as rustic doors, wood floors and knotty pine paneling give the house an easy-going country attitude. The family room can cater to a crowd with wood-burning fireplace and an entrance to the large deck and also a large screen satellite television.
There's a spacious totally remodeled kitchen with granite counter tops and all new appliances and other necessities for meal prep for you and your companions. A large dining table, pretty windows, and ceiling beams make this a welcoming place for everything from pizza to puzzles during your Brown County visit. The screened-in porch has seating and the Four-season room is outfitted with a poker table and extra seating and is overlooking the hot tub and fire pit.
Now, let's talk about the three bedrooms... Log walls, original cabin-esque windows and a choice of bedding sizes are sure to suit guests' sleeping requirements. Fireplaces in two of the bedrooms will add a nice snap, crackle, pop on a crisp night. The master bedroom is large enough to support a fireplace, a king-sized bed, a loveseat, and two chairs...with plenty of room to spare. A smaller bedroom provides 2 sets of bunks with 3 twins and one full, which would be nice for the kids. The third bedroom is amply outfitted with a queen-size bed, as well as a fireplace. There are 2 full bathrooms, one with tub/shower combo and the other with subway tiled large shower.
When staying in Serenity, you're not far from Bluegrass music at the Bill Monroe Music Park in Bean Blossom, lots of shopping opportunities in Nashville's boutiques and galleries, or fishing in nearby Lake Lemon or Yellowwood Lake. All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays. Dog friendly cabins require 75.00 nonrefundable per pet fee.
This property was very comfortable and included so many amenities! We loved the kitchen table and all the decks, hot tub and screened porches! It was so quiet and yet so very convenient to the “downtown” shopping area. Loved our time there!
Loved our cabin. Some reviews say the cabin is a little quirky with a few steps up and down here and there. We loved it and thought it added character. We appreciated the fact that it was the original cabin yet the kitchen is updated and wonderful. It was a peaceful little get away. Enjoyed the deck overlooking the ponds and woods as well as enjoying the hot tub. Thrilled to see the deer and the chickens arriving on the property every day. Can't wait to return again. Thank you for a great place to retreat to.
The cabin was perfect. Lots of room and clean. It was comfortable and gave my two best friends a chance to get to know each other...It was a wonderful time. We visited Hard Truth and enjoyed the music. This could be a yearly gathering for us. I would highly recommend the cabin to all my friends. Thank you!!
I cannot say enough positive things about this cabin! We thought the pics were cute online, but it's even better in real life. The check-in process was easy, and the ladies in the office were so friendly, even while they were dealing with power outages from recent storms. They explained everything well, and made sure we were set. We were visited by chickens, who we later found out belong to a neighbor. Deer sightings, and music provided by so many different types of birds, and frogs. The ponds are great, although we didn't fish. Kitchen is absolutely gorgeous, and stocked with more than we needed. Definitely plan to return. Thanks for having us!
Overall very nice. Not good for mobiility impaired though. Parking is right by the front door which is nice. Enter into main bedroom. 2 steps down into living room. 2 hallways into kitchen, both with 2 steps down. Bunkroom and other bedroom are 3 steps up. Great view from kitchen and very large rear deck. No cell service in the house but worked outside most of the time. Very quiet. Several deer by the ponds and neighbors chickens in the yard every morning. Cabin is well furnished, plenty of dishes and utensils. Beds are VERY soft which didnt work for me but wife liked it. May want to bring a lighter blanket in the summer. Very nice inside, outside could use some maintenence.
Cabin was great! Away from it all & only a short drive into town. Roomy & very comfortable. Would love to come back & stay there again
We stayed here over a weekend for our 15th anniversary. The property was just the right distance away from town and was also private enough that we felt we were away from civilization. The cabin was really quaint and very clean with lots of great amenities. Would definitely recommend.
Overall, we had a great weekend staying here! The hot tub was a great feature and it was so quiet at night. Beds were comfy, good space. Only complaint was that the place was missing a few key things. FYI-there isn't any wifi at this place and cell reception was non existent. Not a big deal overall, but I didn't realize that until we got there as the listing doesn't state this clearly. There was also a random assortment of cooking items- you're decently far from restaurants here so cooking is a great option, but we would have appreciated a baking sheet or pan of some sort. The kitchen is gorgeous though. Lastly, the communication with the rental company was overwhelming. They sent so many emails and attached forms that it was hard to keep track of what was the right method of checking in and out. Some paperwork said certain rules existed and others said the opposite. We were supposed to have a check out checklist that was nowhere to be found. I think they could benefit from some organization. Overall, great comfy place to stay, but missing a few things that I usually think are a given for house rentals.
Pictures do not do this place justice, it is bigger, and has modern updates.
The listing online was misleading because it showed three beds rooms- one with 4 bunks for children- but after I mentioned 7 would be staying- we were charged $300 more because the listing stated only 4 guests. I feel like they should make it more clear that they only want 4 guests at the property in the listing because the cabin has enough beds for 8. The front door lock wasn’t working and when I tried to call the management company- I was unable to leave a message. The house itself was nice enough and is close to downtown but still secluded. The kids had fun fishing in the pond. The kitchen was updated and was great for family meals. We would stay here again when visiting Nashville.
