Apartment was ok but . . . We stayed for four nights. By the second night we could smell sewer gases in the apartment, particularly in the bathroom. It was apparent that this is an ongoing problem. It is a basement apartment with no opening windows to air the apartment and alleviate the smell and dampness.
This corner apartment is about 7 steps below ground level with very high ceilings. There are lots of windows and natural light, but the windows are opaque so you can't see out. But this is helpful for privacy as the windows are right next to the sidewalks. The immediate neighborhood is run down and unpleasant, but on the up side the streets were quiet. If you walk a few blocks in the right direction, the neighborhood becomes more pleasant. The sofa turns into a bed in the living room, and there is a small bed in the loft - above the bed in the bedroom. We were here in July and the air conditioners worked, but that upper bed space was still quite warm. if you use the fan up there it would probably help, but the fan bothered my kid who was sleeping up there (and the heat didn't bother him). The entrance to the bathroom is through the bedroom. The shower in the bathroom is small to the point of being unpleasant. The apartment is clean, bright, and pleasant to be in. We cooked some meals here, and it was cramped with four of us, but probably would have worked well with two people. Maruizio was nice and met us to show us the apartment. The apartment is close to the subway station, which was definitely a bonus.
Perfect stay in Rome. It’s about a 20 minute walk to everything. Air conditioning was a dream during the heat wave. The apartment is cozy but perfect for teenaged children and adults. Host was lovely and helpful. Would stay here again!
Maurizio and Viki were awesome hosts. The apartment was as described. I use a mobility scooter, but can stand and walk short distances. The apartment was below the street with stairs, but I had a place to park my scooter inside the door and it was out of the way when not in use. I had really bad allergies while in Italy and getting to a pharmacy was not a problem. When we arrived, we had a nepresso machine with coffee pods to use and snacks. I was looking forward to meeting Maurizio and Viki because of how friendly our conversations on VRBO and I was NOT disappointed. They both were beautiful people inside. The apartment was like an art museum. Everything was beautifully displayed and she had an eye for being able decorate. I am horrible at that. I will probably never be able to return to Europe, but if I did and stayed in Rome, I would definitely return here. I just can't say enough good things about the apartment orvthe both of them.
We enjoyed our stay in Rome. Apartment was clean, well-stocked and very cozy. Great location and very nice host! Highly recommend.
Very cozy apartment at a convenient location near the center of Rome. The neighborhood wasn't the best but at no point did we feel unsafe inside or outside the apartment. Maurizio was very communicative and went out of his way to accommodate us checking in at 8pm, as well as left some snacks and espresso for us to enjoy during our stay.
Great experience, very easy, everything was neat and organized. The apartment is only a few minute walk from the metro that can take you to Roma Termini or anywhere else you’d like to go in Rome.
