Apartment in the heart of Born

Great location, unfortunately half the lights were working and the shower head was broken. There were cracks in the drywall in the bedroom. Pillows were old and lumpy.

Marta's lovely apartment is stylish, comfortable, well set up, and in a wonderful location in El Born. Even though it is 'inner city' it was very quiet. Marta also provides lots of information about things to do in Barcelona. It is also very close to my favourite tapas restaurant, Cal Pep, so that was a big bonus!

This apartment has so much potential. The location is amazing. Close to good restaurants and transportation, a short walk to the beach, and the neighborhood itself is wonderful. Marta was great and her communication excellent. We really appreciated the digital entry platform and the fact that we didn't have to share a key. There was an Aldi a short walk away and several smaller stores around the corner. Also, it was extremely hot when we were there and the air conditioner was effective and kept up with the heat. Unfortunately, though, the apartment needs some attention. The sheets and towels were stained. The first towel I grabbed had a really unfortunate stain. That said, there were extra towels so I found a less stained one to use. The sheets and towels had clearly been washed, but the look of the stains definitely gave us pause. The furniture had also seen better days, with a huge rip in the arm of one of the chairs and some stains on cushions. Some inexpensive slip covers and a coat of paint on the walls would do wonders.

This was a great location for us: easy access to ride shares and taxis, many restaurant options, two grocery stores, close to several things we wanted to see or do. Pillows and bedding seemed old; TV was old and small - no streaming & no English. We had no internet the entire three days. The Internet password in the info book seemed to connect, but we couldn't even get email, the manager gave me another 40-digit password with numbers, symbols, caps and lower case - nearly impossible to enter into a phone and also didn't work. Her only response to any problem was, no one else had a problem. But someone has to be first reporting problems.

Great location with several great restaurants in the area, would stay again,

Our stay at the flat was nice, with no problems. Really convenient having a washer/dryer as we were staying for a little over 2 weeks. The only nit in this review is that the pictures in the ad are a bit dated, as the current state of the apartment, particularly the master bath, is in need of a refresh. With that being said, the building is very secure and the location is absolutely fantastic and we'd definitely book this flat again. A nice square with restaurants right outside the door (including Cal Pep, an internationally renowned restaurant). Although the square can be noisy at times, the windows to the flat must be double glazed as they block most of the noise when closed. Never had trouble sleeping due to noise. Walking distance to just about everything. An Aldi's supermarket and several smaller markets within a couple blocks radius. Our host, Marta, was very pleasant and communicative. She made sure the check in process was easy and seamless and also checked in on us during our stay to make sure everything was okay. Really made our stay in Barcelona feel very special.

Marta was a wonderful hostess. We couldn’t have asked for a better location, too. So many cafes right out the front door, and a three minute walk to ALDI’s supermarket. Banks, taxis, buses, and a train station very close by. We loved our “home away from home,” and can’t wait to return.
