APARTMENT GANDARINHA SOL CASAS DO GANDARINHA

A very elegant, well equipped, garden level apartment in a perfect location to visit Cascais. This apartment is in a beautiful building located between the cultural centre building and a very picturesque park. Parking is available in a gated area on the property and the building has a 24-hour concierge. The marina, bars, restaurants, shopping and the old town are a short walking distance away. Marcia, the property manager, met us at the apartment at a pre-arranged timed. She also responded quickly through the VRBO app when we had questions. Thank you, Marcia. As an added bonus, the apartment has a large, private patio which is accessible from both the great room and the bedroom and overlooks the large, beautifully landscaped gardens and a pool.The rooms are very spacious except for the kitchen which was of no concern as it was clean, modern, bright and super efficient. The bathroom could use some updating but it did have a marble vanity, double sinks with a large walk-in shower with great water pressure (and hot!). Our only suggestions were that the bed pillows and sheets could use a refresh. Also, we found the sofas were a little dated and lower than what we are used to.We would definitely rent this apartment again. Sharron & Mike (Niagara Region, Canada)

Excellent location, clean and spacious

Fantastic Apartment in the Perfect Location – Highly Recommend!This was our fifth visit to Cascais but our first stay at Casas do Gandarinha, and it absolutely made our holiday. The apartment was larger than expected, spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The open-plan living/dining area was bright and airy, and the separate kitchen was well equipped (oven, induction hob, full-size fridge/freezer, washing machine, plenty of utensils). There’s no coffee maker, so bring your own tea and coffee, but a kettle is provided.The bedroom and bathroom were huge, the shower excellent, and the double bed extremely comfortable. Electric shutters kept rooms cool and dark for a great sleep.The large private patio with dining table and shade was a real bonus, as were the pretty gardens and big, spotless pool, often empty except for a couple of resident ducks. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and there’s secure parking on site, though we mainly used Uber (about 30 to/from the airport).The location couldn’t have been better, directly opposite the marina and museum district, five minutes to the centre and beaches, with supermarket and local market about 15 minutes away (the provided trolley made shopping easy). Many restaurants are within a short walk. The apartment block area felt very safe and has 24-hour security.We loved everything about our stay, the location, comfort, and secure, spacious apartment. We couldn’t fault anything and would definitely stay here again.

Pros; The apartment is in a fabulous location, spacious and the check in was easy. Cons; One of the beds was very uncomfortable, and the only way to may coffee was a tea kettle type system, one cup at a time. The manager told us she would provide a pod coffee maker, then decided not to. The shower has quite a bit of mold, and the water guard is torn half way off.

Parking not applicable for us as short term guests without a car.Location is excellent - walkable along the front past 6 beaches past Estoril. Cafes, bars and restaurants all close by. Would recommend getting a taxi from Lisbon Airport. Felt very safe with 24 hour concierge.Lovely park right next to the apartment.

Excellent location and facilities. Apartment was very clean and tidy. Marcia met us at the apartment and went through the basics which was great. Will definitely book again.

The check in progress was very easy, Marcia meet us there, she also arranged transportation from the train station to the apartment. The local is excellent. It's easy walking to restaurants, beaches, museums and the marina. The terrace was very large and if there would have been comfortable furniture it would have been perfect. The pool is also very nice. The only negatives we found were the furniture is older and not comfortable. There was a very musty, sewer smell from the bathroom. The mattresses weren't as comfortable as we would like but we do not sleep well on very hard mattresses. There was construction every day, all day. On our last morning the power went out every minute or so making it hard to shower, pack and leave. With some updating it could be a perfect 10 stay.

Great location and quiet building with 24 hour security / porter service

The property is great, nice apartment in a well maintained building with a large pool and well situated for excursions to Cascais and the beaches.

We had a great stay at Marcia’s apartment. Everything was clean and tidy, with the added plus of a washing machine. Sitting reading on the patio overlooking the gardens was lovely, we even went in the pool( start of May). The apartment is very central to the town and everything is walkable, bus and train stations are a short walk. We would highly recommend this apartment.

This is our third or fourth stay here so I think that will speak for itself. As I mentioned before , it would be nice if there would be a nescafe machine and some basic items like salt, pepper, oil to name a few. We hope the next renters can use what we bought.

We were warmly welcomed by Marcia and enjoyed our short break in this apartment. All was as expected and the apartment and grounds are superb.

Spent 3 nights at this location. Great spot near train, eating options and ocean. Spacious with nice garden view. Note... Yes drive down the cobble stone alley to access parking lot... We drove past 3 times before we figured it out. LOL!!

The communication with Marcia the owner was very good. She was really helpful. The condo is spacious and comfortable and in a great location. Although the kitchen was small it was adequate for us with a washing machine. The patio and gardens were lovely. The one disappointment was that the pool was out of action and this was one of our reasons for choosing the apartment. Marcia apologised and said there was some sort of leak. This did not appear to be being rectified whilst we were there 7-11 September. Maybe it was too near the end of the season. However I appreciate this was outside Marcia's control. She was as helpful as she could be and we enjoyed our stay.

Loved staying in Marcia's cute little condo. The grounds are beautiful, pool is amazing and you simply cant ask for a better location. I would 1000% return - thank you Marcia!
