This little studio was perfect! The hosts were great with communication and accommodated us when we needed it. Everything was clean and easy to use. We didn't have a dish sponge but we made do. We enjoyed our stay very much!
This vacation rental was not what we expected at all. The studio is located in a home on the side of a hill with great views out to the bay, and the inside of the studio is nicely decorated with lots of space and very basic amenities. However, the owner is a chatterbox and was a bit intrusive upon check-in; the atmosphere was more like a bed and breakfast rather than a vactation rental. The property is not well-tended and has shipping containers, car parts, kids toys and playhouses littering the area. Additionally, while the ad does say that the owner lives onsite, it fails to mention that the rental studio is directly connected to the owner's unit with a door that only locks from the OTHER side. There is no way to ensure that the owner cannot enter your studio while you're sleeping, out doing activities, etc. This was extremely uncomfortable. Moreover, the owner's daughter and her young children live in the unit directly above the rental, and these children are awake with the sun; and in the summer in Alaska, that means 4:30am. I could not sleep at all with the children running around upstairs and someone walking around the property with possibly a wheelbarrow at 6:30am. You can hear the family yelling at the children through the walls and ceiling. Overall, we felt like we were just intruding on someone else's life and had to tiptoe around. We ended up leaving and booking a hotel in the city for the rest of our stay after the first night. Very disappointing.
Very clean with all that we needed even washer/dryer. Helpful host. Young child did laps over our heads but he went to bed early then it was peaceful. I would use them again.
Good place to rent and take a load off after a flight! Everything was clean and the studio itself was really nice. Check in was easy. Would use again!
Real Alaskan Hospitality . . . above and beyond! Up the mountain & removed from the city bustle. Immaculate as advertised.
We stayed about 15 minutes out of town - which seemed perfect because we felt really out in nature but still very easily accessible to get to and from town. It had beautiful views of the mountain AND the bay. The owners were very courteous and lived on site if anything was needed. The home was very cute & clean and stocked with all the necessities. The 2 dogs were soooo sweet and a good mix of playful/giving you your space. Owners had a binder of local things to do. The washer and dryer and kitchenette were super convenient for an extended stay. We were there for a total of 6 days. It was all around a great getaway.
Wonderfully well keep room. Clean and comfortable. Felt like home. Beautiful views! The home owners are friendly, down to earth people, and can’t forget Theo and Orzo (friendliest dogs you’ll ever meet)

However, the owner is a chatterbox and was a bit intrusive upon check-in, asking about our plans and if we knew anyone in the area...the atmosphere was more like a bed and breakfast rather than a vactation rental. We ended up leaving and booking a hotel in the city for the rest of our stay after the first night. The owner didn't even respond when I texted him that we had made other arrangements! For two young women it was not a comfortable environment. Two stars only for the views and the quality of the studio.
I recently booked a 6 night stay at this awesome property and stayed alone. It was exactly what the listing shows and more. You have a huge living space/bedroom with a nice sized kitchenette, bathroom and a laundry closet. There’s 3 big windows with privacy curtains to keep the light out. The beds are comfortable and big. The porch is spacious with two chairs to relax on. The view is absolutely beautiful, especially if you’re not use to seeing mountains. The house is about 15 minutes from downtown Anchorage, which is exactly where you want to be. Finding the place was a breeze and all of the roads getting there were paved. The family that owns this unit was incredibly polite, helpful and patient whenever I had minor issues. They have two absolutely beautiful Labrador retrievers that made my trip unforgettable. I still miss those boys. Overall, I made the right decision by choosing to stay here! 10/10.
