Rome, Lazio
Just seconds away from the popular outdoor market in Campo de’ Fiori, CieloTerra is a charming studio located in a medieval building down Via dei Cappellari.
The building itself hides a delightful secret: behind an unassuming entrance lies a picturesque courtyard, with what is essentially a rare example (for Rome!) of guard rail/balustrade houses. Originally intended as accommodations for the working class, they have overtime become exclusive and fashionable: the flats share the same open gallery which is used as a communal terrace, drying area, what have you!
Located on the second floor (no elevator is permitted, due to the building being listed), CieloTerra is a duplex: on the lower floor you will find a bathroom with a large shower, a cozy living room which includes a fireplace and a sofa bed for two, and last but not least a small but well equipped kitchen, which includes a fridge and freezer, a gas-fired oven-and-stove, a moka coffee machine, a toaster, a kettle as well as cutlery and crockery.
Upstairs, under a spectacular skylight and wooden beams in the ceiling, is the cozy, essential master bedroom, featuring plenty of storage space, on antique hardwood floors.
On account of the layout of this particular accommodation, we cannot recommend CieloTerra to guests with mobility issues.
A/C and a free Wifi connection are offered to all guests.
Please note that CieloTerra doesn’t have a washing machine: we will be happy to direct you to the nearest launderette for any of your laundry needs while in Rome (this specific information as well as more notes about the location of supermarkets, recommended restaurants and more are in a binder in the apartment).
Fabulous location! Campo dei Fiori is a wonderful location and this property is steps away from the vibrant main square. Felt very safe and the apartment was quiet. Be aware that it is on the 3rd floor and you have to enter the charming complex through a locked gate. Had everything we needed for a 4 day stay in Rome.
My wife and I stayed here for a week. Property is clean and easy to access. Small, but ideal for two people who weren't looking to spend much time in our room anyway. Location just off Campo di Fiori is absolutely ideal for exploring all of the old city on foot. We loved our stay here, would highly recommend.
The apartment was in the perfect location and was nice and clean. No complaints there. The reason for not giving 5 stars is that there were a few issues/confusions over payment with the property manager (and partially with VRBO, too). When we first made a reservation, we were told the City Tax had to be paid in cash on arrival. That was fine. After we made the reservation, we started getting various, mixed messages from the property manager about payments... First, we were told not only the City Tax had to be paid in cash, but also the Damage Deposit. Ultimately, the City Tax, Cleaning Fee, Damage Deposit, AND the entire balance owed for the room all had to be in cash. This alarmed us since it wasn't communicated on VRBO prior to booking the reservation and VRBO won't protect any payments made in cash. We called VRBO, and they were helpful in contacting the property manager to ask them to send us an invoice so we can pay online by credit card. Eventually it was fixed where we only paid the City Tax and Cleaning Fee in cash, but paid for the balance on the room and Damage Deposit on credit card upon arrival. But it took 6 calls to VRBO/property manager to get it done. Part of this confusion was because when VRBO would contact the property manager, the property manager would say, yes, we'll create an invoice online and send it to them. So we would wait for a day, and no invoice would arrive and we'd call again. This happened several times. If the property manager said from the start, no, we won't issue the invoice online, but you can pay by credit card and VRBO protects those payments even though it's not paid through their website, it would have saved a lot of time and back and forth. Instead, they kept stringing us along by saying an invoice was coming, but not sending it. So while the apartment and location were great, I would be careful about payments. Don't pay in cash and don't be afraid to get VRBO involved and be persistent.
Location is great. But the appliances and furniture as well as pots and pans are in bad conditions. The appartment is dark and the ligthing is poor. 39 steps to the door of appartment. Borderline in all areas.
Comfortable apartment with great location for seeing the sights in Rome - highly recommended.
What an amazing find! The apartment is small but suited our needs well and is perfect for a couple looking to experience Rome. Everything that we needed was a within a short walk and the area is packed with tons of good places for food & drink. The major sites are all a short taxi ride away and some are within walking distance including the site of Caesar's murder which has now been taken over by cats. The area of Campo de Fiori is pretty lively at night but can't be heard from the apartment. Emanuele and the rest of the team were very helpful with answering questions before our arrival and check in was a breeze. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to experience all that Rome has to offer.
Emanuele was so helpful! This little apartment is perfectly located in Campo de Fiori area. Restaurants, shopping, entertainment each evening... wonderful! The property was spotless and well maintained. Emanuele arranged a car service for trips to and fro the airport, which was great. There are bus stops near by, location makes it easy to use the “taxi” app to call for a taxi, very centrally located! We had an amazing experience! Grazie!!!
Clean, secure and close walking distance to all the sites. Coordination of rides to and from airport were very handy. Photos were accurate, Bed was comfortable, it was an excellent place to stay in Rome.
Lovely, well-located apartment. Stayed with my two teens.
It was a pleasant stat. We got a very detailed introduction when we came.
