A room with a view

Papakea is a superb resort with wonderful grounds and lots of activities - but they charge a nightly resort fee, so be aware.The unit was as advertised, but we misunderstood multiple aspects of the furnishings. The furnishings were clearly designed for appearance rather than functionality. The king size bed occupies much of the space and is ON THE FLOOR - you must CRAWL on the floor to get into or out of the bed. Not a good idea for anyone over age 13. The kitchen is new and nicely appointed, but very limited counter space. The dishwasher and toaster did not work. Seating arrangements were almost none - a tiny loveseat and two plastic chairs. No table for eating or working - just a bar and stools out on the patio. No dresser for clothes organization.The bathroom was newly refurbished but the sink was designed to be stylish rather than practical - minimal storage or places to put toiletries, etc.The manager was responsive to problems but unable to fix them while we were there.BE AWARE of the details and make sure they suit you before booking this unit.

Location was perfect, apartment was super clean! Host surprised us with some Prosecco in the fridge which was so sweet! The pool was lovely especially in the evenings, resort is beautiful and very quiet, perfect for a relaxing stay!Only thing the dishwasher didn’t work but we didn’t really need it. There was also a few things like conditioner and laundry detergent that were out but such small things didn’t impact our stay at all. Would 1000% stay again, super affordable for the location, close to so many beaches and amenities, 10/10!

There is everything you need in the apartment, we absolutely loved the balcony for breakfast, drinks and relaxing. Only downside would be the pool which is not so nice but who needs a pool in Hawaii :)
