The location is fantastic, recently past Lonely Planet named Oltrarno district, as the coolest neighborhood in the world. You are in the more authentic narrow streets of old Florence, that with its artisans than hipster appeal.
Palace Pitti is around the corner, and Ponte Vecchio is a few steps. You are in the heart of the ancient city, and you can go walking to all its must-see sights. You do not need to take anything transport means. Get out of the front door all is at your fingertips.
The apartment is an authentic old Florentine home, and you fall in love because it is not a facsimile of an anonymous hotel. The building is ancient in its medieval bricks, stones, and Renaissance coffered ceilings. The home had restoration, but every structure and finishes have the flavor of the old time. On the apartment walls, you can see the reproductions of famous paintings. They represent the Renaissance Italian painting, and their beauty will help you understand Florence.
The apartment is on the second floor, you access by renaissance beautiful stone stairs, and there is not the lift. The accommodation comprises entrance hall, living room, dining room - kitchen with sofa-bed for two. Double bedroom, twin bedroom with bunk bed plus an additional bed, a pull out bed from under the low bed. When this bed is out, it is at the same level as the low part of the bunk bed and occupies the space in front of this.
Small bathroom and independent shower that more people can use at the same time. The toilet, washbasin, and bidet are in a chamber, while the shower and another washbasin are in another cabinet. These two rooms are small but usable. Their dimensions are part of the ancient character of the house.
The house consists of strong stone walls, and well insulated in a natural way. Your stay will be enjoyable both in winter and in summer.
The air conditioning is available in the summer months, from June to September. In winter there is the heating by boiler and radiators.
We specify that the fans on the ceiling is not working.
The flat furnished in Italian style combines the modern equipment with the ancient character home.
It is well-connected to public transport. There is an electric bus that stops in Piazza Pitti 50 meters from it.

Neighborhood
Oltrarno is the district on the other side of the Florence river. It named as the coolest neighborhood in the world. In it survive artisans who seek to protect their ancestral experience. This area is still alive and handed down traditions, this you can comprise walking for its small medieval streets. It is a piece of old Florence which survives.

The city
Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance and this is seen looking around everywhere, while you walk in the historic center. Great artists were born and worked here, Giotto, Brunelleschi, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo. The genes of the Renaissance were here at home and have left their mark exceptional. Frescoes by Giotto, the dome and the Palaces of Brunelleschi, the David and other sculptures by Michelangelo, the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli.
When you arrive in Florence there's so much exquisite art and architecture, it's difficult to know where to start.

But Florence is a vibrant city, full of fantastic restaurants and a lively nightlife and a vivacious cultural movement that goes beyond the old masters to embrace opera, classical music, and contemporary art. Beautiful, historic, full of sophisticated shops and quality craftsmanship, and close to the vine hills of the Chianti region, Florence is one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Europe.

The ancient center
The charming historical center of the city never fails to arouse interest with its countless masterpieces: the architecture of the churches and colored marbles remember the past splendor of Florence and the part he played in the development of culture and art of the Renaissance. The heart of the city and the historical and religious center is the Piazza del Duomo, the site of a monument of great value: the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, rich in works of art and dominated by the majestic dome of Brunelleschi. The Baptistery of San Giovanni ( Baptistery of St. John), a magnificent example of Florentine Romanesque architecture, is located in front of the Cathedral, in front of the Bell Tower, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture in Florence. The magnificent Loggia del Bigallo full grandeur of the square. Behind the cathedral is the magnificent Museo dell'Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, exhibits a valuable collection of works of art that originally was inside the Cathedral, Baptistery, and Campanile.

The historic center of civic life is the Piazza Della Signoria, home of the 14th-century Loggia of the Signoria and Loggia of the Lanzi, it is adorned with ornate carvings and famous: think the Neptune fountain and Palazzo Della Signoria, otherwise known as Palace Vecchio one of the landmarks of the city. Several statues stand in front of the Palace, in particular, a copy of Michelangelo's David (the original is on display in the Galleria dell'Accademia).
Next to the Piazza manages the majestic Uffizi Gallery, home to one of the most important and famous museums in the world; inside are works by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and many other great artists, thus outlining a journey through works of art that must be seen. An architectural element worthy of note from the Uffizi Gallery is the Vasari Corridor, a corridor high inventiveness, designed by Vasari in the mid-16th century and which connects the Gallery with Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti.

The charming Old Bridge, populated by historical jewelry shops, leading to the Oltrarno district, where other important public works and religious are - starting from the small church of Santa Felicita, which owns, among other works, a series of frescoes by Pontormo. Particularly noteworthy is the Piazza Santo Spirito, where the 16th -century Palazzo Guadagni and the magnificent Basilica of the Holy Spirit stand. The latter is completely covered with Renaissance decoration and home to the Convent of the Holy Spirit, the old refectory of the convent profusely decorated with frescoes.
A little further on is the beautiful square dominated by the Pitti Palace, the imposing and magnificent palace that was home to the Medici family, the House of Habsburg -Lorraine and Victor Emmanuel II for the short period when Florence was the capital of Italian. Wonderful park of Palazzo Pitti, Boboli Gardens, extends along the ' hill of the same name; these magnificent gardens in the Italian style blend perfectly natural elements for the architecture, statues, and fountains contained within.

The region
The roots of all are in Tuscany - from big to small things. Piero Della Francesca's fresco is the spirit of a region that has spent most of his money on beauty and quality. The perfection of the Tuscan culture can be found in a bowl of Ribollita soup, made with cabbage and served with seasonal oil d ' olive oil freshly squeezed, or tasted in a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino Riserva ; but it can also be found in one of the many free delights of the region, its landscape painting, its thermal water reservoirs, or some of its beaches still poorly understood.
These things are not present in the rest of Italy, but Tuscany has a unique concentration of them. It also combines fierce pride and attention to detail, such as the protection of the territory, complex and irritating but also simple and basic to the conservation of the region.
Tuscany is a collection of cities, Siena, Lucca, Arezzo, Pisa, Cortona, each outstanding for its harmony and beauty. Then there are villages, named in Italian Borghi, San Gimignano, Cortona, Pienza, Volterra, Montepulciano, and many others. In the countryside villas, country houses, farmhouses, cottages that tell an ancient rural life. This great man's work is identified with the epic landscape.

This apartment in the Oltrarno district of Florence is in a wonderful location to walk about the city and enjoy many of its museums, sights, cafes & gelaterias! The restaurant, coffee shop and gelateria almost right outside your door, are all Excellent. The apartment was very comfortable and clean, and we especially appreciated that, after a full day of traveling all the way from California. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay a few days or months in this beautiful city! ❤️❗️

This was such a perfect apartment for our stay in Florence. We’re a family of five, and the apartment had plenty of space for us. The beds were comfortable, the artwork was fun, and the apartment had everything we needed. The apartment is in a fantastic neighborhood with great restaurants and a fun atmosphere. And Rita was very easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this apartment for your visit.

2 minutes from the Ponte Vecchio and within 10 minutes of all main tourist sites, yet tucked away in new and trendy neighbor hood with LOTS of restaurants and bars. The appartment is quiet and peaceful despite being so close to all the main tourist sites. Large grocery store 3 minutes away. The appartment has tall ceilings and rustic beams giving it a great old world charm yet modern and updated.
