A Few Steps from the Duomo

There is no parking area, despite the very clear language in the listing. You have to park in a public lot and pay for that separately. That alone cost an additional 97.You then take two escalators and walk a quarter mile uphill with your luggage to get to the property. Once inside you are in a dark cavernous hallway for which you need to push the light switch, but it is on a timer of about 15 to 20 seconds, and then will leave you fumbling in the dark for your cell phone flashlight so that you can then try to grope your way to the elevator. There is also no barbecue area, no, Jacuzzi — another inaccuracy from the listing – and it reeks of cigarette smoke. No air conditioning, so definitely do not stay here in the summer. There was a fan but it required a special adapter, which was nowhere to be found. We contacted the host that night and got no answer. Out of a three nights day, we only stayed one night because it was so awful and not at all what we had expected. Don’t be fooled by the attractive looking loft. Very steep stairs to lug your suitcase up. Do yourself a favor, and go find something in Assisi which is only half an hour away.

We stayed two nights. The best part was the location, which was excellent. It is near all the main sites and many restaurants. The apartment was as pictured. It was very clean. There were plenty of dishes, glasses, and silverware. There are two bathrooms, with the larger on the 2nd level with the bedroom. The stairs to the 2nd floor are somewhat steep and might cause concern for those with mobility impairments or with young children. There is a fairly steep stairway to the elevator.

Excellent location for eating out or cooking in.
