Cozy is the right word. It's a small space, but practically everything you need is there for sleeping, relaxing (eg, reading, playing board games, watching TV), cooking, having a meal, etc. We liked how the whole room (it's just a large room with a separate bathroom) was stocked and neatly arranged so that it didn't feel cluttered or too crowded, yet everything we needed was there at our fingertips. Very tastefully decorated and comfortable. We didn't explore the property much, as the weather wasn't great until the day we left. A cinnamon colored black bear came to the property the day before our visit, and we were hoping to see it, but it didn't return. But there are great views from the yard, esp. on our final day with the fog over the hills in the early morning. Johanna kept in communication with us via texting, and she has a wealth of information about local culture, events, and places to go. We followed several of her suggestions for places to eat in town and, on a rainy day, for making the 45 minute drive to Corning, NY to visit the fantastic museum of glassmaking there. On our final morning, after a day of rain, we made the hike down to the bottom of the Pine Creek Gorge (aka PA Grand Canyon) and back along the Turkey Path, and although it was slippery and steep in places, it was definitely worth the effort to get to the bottom! Only about a 20-minute drive from Cozy Getaway to the park. We will definitely consider returning to A Cozy Getaway!
Johanna is very helpful and will make sure you have what you need.
Very clean
Enjoyed my stay. Place was as advertised. Perfect for what I went for (Hunting). Would return again in the future. Very cozy and comfortable. If I had one criticism, it would be for a bigger refrigerator. Other than that it was worth the price.
Our third trip up to Wellsboro and another perfect stay thanks to Johanna’s wonderful cabin. Clean, private, well appointed and inviting. Communication before and during our stay was kind and respectful. Property was well- taken care of and the fireplace was on when we arrived. What more could you ask for?
Couldn’t have asked for a more hospitable host. She suggested some “off the beaten path” places to eat and explore. Access to the Pine Creek Trail from the property was a bonus.
Our stay was perfect, we had a great time. Our host was wonderful and the cabin was very clean and comfortable.
We loved our stay and the history of the property! Great hospitality!
We enjoyed our stay at this very clean, comfortable, and cozy rental. The property is a short drive to Wellsboro and the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania; in addition, we were able to walk the Pine Creek Rail Trail from the property. Our dog enjoyed the grassy nature path at the nearby Cavanaugh Access Area along the rail trail. Our host provided great recommendations for attractions, fishing, and dining; and the rental had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.
Great place to stay. The studio was well equipped. The host made sure that we were comfortable and supplied us with everything that was needed, when one is away from home. Overall, It was a wonderful experience.
The studio rental is adjoined to the host’s home—a nicely renovated garage with cabin decor. The home is located a few miles outside Wellsboro on a forested hillside lot. Very quiet and peaceful. The Pine Creek Rail Trail can be easily accessed from the property. The host lives onsite and is willing to provide any assistance with information on area attractions and dining options. The studio apartment was clean and stocked with toiletries. The kitchen has small refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven and microwave—no range. The flat screen TV is small but adequate. Internet was fine, cable was limited. A nice and affordable place to retreat and enjoy the natural surroundings as well as explore The Grand Canyon of PA.
We were there for 5 days. Everything was wonderful. Very clean and everything was very neat. I loved the antique furniture. The perfect place for a quiet vacation. The birds around there were such an added attraction. We will be going back.
Great time!
This was a very pleasant small cabin near Wellsboro. In particular this is a nicely restored older building on a farm property with a nice view. The cabin is outfitted with about everything needed except personal items and food. found it was convenient to a rail trail, Pine Creek Canyon, State Parks and hiking. The host, Johanna, was very helpful before and during my trip.
My husband and I stayed two nights. This is a one room place that had everything you need, including the kitchen area. Everything was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We loved star gazing (including the Milky Way!) on the front lawn. Johanna also set up the fire pit for us, made good suggestions on what to see and where to eat. A nice trail to walk or bike is right there and the Grand Canyon is a few minutes away. So beautiful to bike and hike. We hope to return. Thank you Johanna!
My first VRBO experience. Quaint efficiency-style quiet and VERY clean place provided my wife and me the 3 day/night respite needed. Easy access to Wellsboro and the incredibly beautiful PA Grand Canyon without dealing with a hotel and the associated noise was a bonus too. We wanted quiet, and it definitely filled our needs. Johanna was attentive and easily accessible for anything we needed without being involved or intrusive in our long weekend/short vacation. I'll go back for sure. Thank you for everything Johnanna!! The bears and bear pictures are a definite treat.
Beautiful area!
Situated on a well maintained and private lot, the cottage offered amazing views of the Marsh Creek valley and surrounding mountains. The rental cottage was cozy and well air conditioned for the warm weather. The cottage offers a private entrance,, and the owner met us to get us setup with access and familiarize us with utilities. She offered solid dining suggestions as well as destinations of interest in the region. Dining options in and around area were rock solid and we had a wonderful time. Already planning our return!
Great stay! Great location to lots of sights in area! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Nice place, close to town and rail trail. I would recommend to anyone.
Johanna was there to welcome us and was most informative about the area, where to eat snd things to do. The cottage has everything you could ask for. She has thought of everything a guest might need. We will be back for sure. Lovely area and close to Wellsboro snd Grand Canyon
