40m2 1st floor apartment, near the center of Saumur

I needed self contained accommodation with some outside space in Saumur that was also close to major stores. Suzel's apartment provided that with a Lidl almost next door and an Intermarché Hypermarché a short drive. The kitchen diner was well equipped and I appreciated the gas hob. Bedroom was a good size and the plant life outside helped keep the apartment cooler with outside temperatures in the 30's. Suzel's a very pleasant lady. I was able to park my car in a convenient space on the road outside.

We had a great time at this rental. It was within walking distance to town and we always had a place to park our car. It was clean and our hostess was right there to take care of any problems of which there were none. We'd stay here again!

What you see is what you get. The pictures give a perfect representation of the appartment. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and spacious. The city center of Saumur is a 20 minute walk. Be aware when you return after 10pm. The city lights go out in the street around the apartment. Take your flashlight or buy one at the Tourist information office ;-)

Close to a busy road and about a mile from town centre. WiFi was poor so used a lot of our own data.

Simple serviceable apartment, bed comfortable and clean, hot water all the time, very safe and secure, on street parking, did exactly the job we needed it to. We will book again for the spring.

Just a nice apartment and the owner very helpful

The owner has created a really lovely space, with trailing vines around the windows and balcony which make it feel really green and secluded. It had everything we needed, apart from a hairdryer, but the kind owner brought one for us very quickly. We are both very tall (6ft and 6ft 3) so the bed was on the small side for us (a small double/4ft6 - I think). But it was sturdy enough and comfortable. We had to bend down low to get out on the balcony, and bend down in the shower, because of the sloping roof, but the bathroom is actually a comfortable size and the balcony is a very nice space. We had sun on the balcony in the afternoon (definitely), and I think in the morning too. You wouldn't know it from inside, but it is actually surrounded by an Aldi,(on the next block) a relatively busy road for Saumur, and a small car park! But it just didn't feel like that at all - you can't really see or hear them when you are in the apartment (the vines just block it out), and we didn't hear any traffic at night. Despite the many windows in the bedroom, the curtains kept out the light. The Aldi was very convenient. Parking on the street outside was easy (during a very busy weekend in the town), and there was actually plenty of space outside the apartment behind the gate to store our bicycles. We were also given keys to an inside bicycle storage area, but we didn't use it because the weather was so fine. If you like ultra modern and new, then this won't be the apartment for you. It's quirky. We really loved it and highly recommend it. Great price too.

Apartment with nice interior and a small balcony. Good value for money. Location is ok if you are by car. A few minutes by car to the center of Saumur, its beautiful castle and its many wine cellars. Small sofa bed. Small set of appliances and tableware, some of which were quite old. Additional cost for bedsheets and towels.
