Enjoy the peace and quiet of pretty Polruan with a stay at this charming stone cottage, which has space for up to five guests. It’s a wonderful retreat for families or groups of friends looking to uncover the beauty of South Cornwall. You’ll have lovely watery views over the River Fowey from the property. Within 100 metres there’s a friendly local pub, a shop and a small quay where you can board a passenger ferry across to the vibrant town of Fowey.

You’ll needto head up a flight of stairs to access the property, which is spread over two floors – starting with a bright and airy living area boasting scenic views of Polruan’s working boatyard. The lounge section is fab for relaxing, with its comfortable seating, ornamental fireplace and Smart TV, while the dining area opens onto a spacious terrace – perfect for enjoying the fresh sea breeze. In the good-sized kitchen, you can whip up meals using local produce. The single bedroom and separate WC are also on this floor, while on the top floor, you’ll find two king-size bedrooms with en-suites and sea views – not a bad way to start each day! Outside, the terrace creates the ideal spot for al fresco dining, complete with an awning and surrounded by flowers and shrubs. Please note, parking is available at a public pay-and-display car park 650 metres from the property.

Fowey is known for its attractive streets lined with independent shops for picking up souvenirs, quaint galleries and excellent eating options. You could take a boat ride from Fowey Harbour or even hire a canoe. Alternatively, join the South West Coast Path (500 metres) and follow it along to gorgeous Polperro (6 miles). Literary enthusiasts will enjoy tracing the footsteps of Daphne du Maurier on the Gribbin Head coastal walk (4.5 miles), or you can have a day out at Lanhydrock (9 miles), a National Trust property with gorgeous grounds to explore.

- Please note: Polruan is on a steep hill with narrow, winding streets, and access to some properties requires climbing flights of steps

- Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via steps/slopes some of which can be steep, and may not be suitable for people with restricted mobility.

- There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Polruan do not have private parking. However, there is a large pay and display carpark at the top of the village.

- Parking is in a public pay and display car park 650 metres away

- There is a ring doorbell at the front door facing out into the road covering the top step of the property. No view into the property. Motion detection not generally set, just works as a doorbell
