We were really looking forward to having a pool - it was the number one reason we had booked this particular place. Unfortunately the pool was extremely cloudy and unswimmable. Talking to another resident, there had been ongoing issues with the pool and it had just opened. Unfortunately this wasn't relayed to us. Pros: - location is amazing - Bathroom is clean, but small - Comfortable bed and furniture. Loved the big pouf to lounge on. - Oven worked well and kitchen was stocked with necessities Cons: - Swimming pool was the biggest disappointment. - There is no handicap ramp so coming in and out of the building with a stroller was a little bit of a hassle. Something to note for infants/toddlers/people with disabilities AC units were loud, but worked well, thank goodness! just to mention. We were thankful for that. Overall would stay there again if the swimming pool is functional.
Overall a pleasant experience. The location is awesome and there were enough sleeping surfaces to house a couple kids as well. Place was clean and as-advertised, albeit a different couch. There was a bit of a recurring smell that we couldn't get out, even with an air freshener, and we could hear the neighbors sometimes.
Wasn’t awful by any means but it was just okay. Also didn’t appreciate being texted that police would be on the way if the tv volume wasn’t lowered. It was a very zero to one hundred situation, that could have escalated quickly. To avoid that I turned the tv off and left out of the apartment for the night and came back just to sleep. Host sent thousands of instructions and rules that are paragraphs long. Location is okay but isn’t worth being micromanaged the entire stay. Furniture is cheap/ outdated…I mean a bean bag…. arcade game that doesn’t work also takes up space, and the bathroom has a terrible stench, possibly from poor cleaning or very bad plumbing. All in all, I can’t say that I would stay here again simply because …..well I wouldn’t want to. To anyone looking for a nice fun place to stay while in Chicago, rethink staying here.
This was by far the worst experience we have ever had with Vrbo! We tried contacting the owner with questions and to ask for the access information 24 hours before our check in, no response. We tried emails and calls as we traveled in, no response. We contacted Vrbo directly and they reached out to the owners, no response. At our check in we still had not received access information, Vrbo solution was that they left a voicemail. We finally had to insist that we were not getting off the phone without a solution. Finally they connected with the owner, he had doubled booked our space and told us it wasn’t available to us, I had reserved and paid in full 4 months in advance. We were now in the city at 5pm with our 3 young children on a Friday night with no place to stay! The owner never apologized or tried to make it right in anyway. At this time Vrbo said they couldn’t find us a hotel so we needed to figure it out. They told us we needed to use approved sites to find a hotel on our own and then if it was within a certain amount they would reimburse us, due to the late time of day all the hotels had stopped booking through these sites. Finding a hotel for 5 people on a Friday night in the city is impossible. My young daughter sat in the back crying because we had no place to stay and my husband and I frantically called every hotel we could. Finally we found 1 room in a completely different area than we had booked all our weekend plans. Out $$ &, time, and a terrible experience!
We enjoyed our stay here as the location was perfect with great access to restaurants and shops as we walked everywhere. The amenities were excellent with the pool and workout room as well.
Comfortable short stay in Chicago. Apartment is as described. The view from rooftop- especially at night- is fantastic!
I was happy with my stay. The hosts were responsive. The apartment was clean! The view was beautiful and within walking distance from EVERYTHING. I will be back for sure. Thank you guys for providing an affordable yet nice place to stay.
We use VRBO quite a bit and this was by far our worst experience. The good: Great location and Great view from the Apartment. The Bad: Both the King master bed and the queen sofa sleeper bed were broken. The shower only had one temperature; scalding hot. Only one blanket for the entire apartment that is supposed to sleep 4 across 3 beds (king, sofa, air mattress). The rooftop pool was green and appeared unsanitary; you couldn't see the bottom of the pool. I would have rated it much higher if the property manager made any attempt to correct any of these issues during our stay. They did not. Their only response to our messages regarding all of the issues above was that they felt we didn't understand how to properly operate a shower. The king bed frame failure resulted in our legs being level and our heads being about 8 inches lower when trying to sleep. We couldn't even get the hide-away bed out of the couch as the metal frame to it was in pieces as we tried to pull it out. Again, we understand that things happen, but the owner ignored our concerns and requests. Be sure to steer clear of any of their properties!
First time time not getting a hotel in Chicago. No regrets. Amazing location, easy walking to Michigan Avenue and restaurants. Great workout area. Josh was attentive and prompt with any questions I had. Perfect all around for our stay in Chicago. Will definitely stay here again!!
Unit is located in a fantastic location. My wife and I were within walking distance to entertainment, food, and shopping. Did not have to Uber until we needed transportation to the airport. Could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you.
Everything went very smooth. Place was nice and we kept, and quiet at night for sleeping. Also great location. Highly recommend.
