Located between the villages of Stockbridge, Housatonic and Great Barrington. Most unique Riverhouse property located on the bank of Rising Pond of the Housatonic River.

Built around 1860, the Riverhouse has been updated and outfitted for modern-day convenience but retains its charm and unique appeal. From original painted-board floors and claw-foot bathtub with shower to modern amenities this property offers spectacular views of foliage and wildlife from the deck, picture window and bathroom of this upstairs artist’s aerie, filled with original art by local artists.

The only house located directly on the banks of Rising Pond of the Housatonic River, it offers spectacular views of fall foliage and wildlife and makes for an authentic Berkshires experience. Spectacular sunsets every night. Easy access from the bank of the property for small boating and sculling. Located in the heart of the Berkshires; the Appalachian Trail, Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co., the Rockwell Museum, Chesterwood, summer stock theater, music, and dance are all just minutes away. Easy access to Butternut Ski 5 miles and Catamount 12 miles. Fully equipped kitchen with all cooking utensils and serving dishes make eating on the deck and entertaining a delight. Walking distance (1/4 mile) to the fabulous Berkshire Mountain Bakery with delicious french pastries and bread for your morning coffee and take away pizzas for easy meals. Taft Organic Farms is 1.25 miles down the road for delicious local products, produce, sandwiches, farm animals and more.

The open floor plan and lovely views make this efficient upstairs apartment seem much larger than it’s 650 square feet. The two private bedrooms include a king bed that can be made into twins in the first and a queen-size bed in the second. The large bathroom features an antique full-size claw foot bathtub (with shower) that gives out to a incredible view as you soak! Full laundry facilities available. Kayak and small boat access from from river bank. Bring your boat! Parking for two cars. There are 13 steep stairs to the apartment and the claw foot tub is tall. This apartment is NOT ACCESSIBLE.

My family LOVED staying here. The view was amazing but beyond that everything was so comfortable - from the beds to the space itself we felt right at home. Highly recommend! Thanks Bee!

We had a great stay at this cozy & comfortable two bedroom apartment. The property was perfectly located - just a couple minutes from Great Barrington & Monument Mountain & close to Stockbridge, Lenox, & Lee. The view from the back deck overlooking the lake was beautiful, especially in the morning & late afternoon sunlight. Though we never met Bee in person, she was very welcoming & communicative before and during our stay.

We throughly enjoyed our mini Berkshire getaway at this cute property. Check in and out was very easy. Property owner was responsive when we had a question. We enjoyed an evening bottle of wine on the back balcony-gorgeous views.

Bee couldn't have been more responsive, even though she was in the hospital after an accident! The cottage itself featured a well equipped kitchen, and we found ourselves eating in and not going out--as it was so pleasant to eat on the 2nd floor deck and watch the sun set. The apartment has a cooling cross breeze. We came with my 92-year old mother (fully mobile--there are steps) and she went hiking w/ my husband while I was in rehearsals. Location was excellent with easy access to Lenox, Stockbridge, Tanglewood etc. no shortage of things to do. There was a great bakery in walking distance, and trails for hiking nearby. Also a farmstand with delicious just picked berries. We all left feeling emotionally and physically fulfilled and happy. I hope to stay here next time I come for a vocal workshop in the area.

Location perfect for our needs. View from Deck is special. The Housatonic feeds into the pond and there is a lot of wildlife to see. The deck is good for a couple. Tight for more. You can only use the stairs to go below for emergency as it leads to the bottom deck. It was very hot when we stayed. It took 3 hours to cool the apartment when it’s 95 degrees out. There are only two small window units and a few fans. One bedroom is without. It did not affect our stay since we only used one bedroom. The floors are uneven and I recommend anyone with balance issues consider this. There are narrow stairs leading to the second floor unit. We had trouble with the tv and our host had it fixed the next day. The toaster was fussy or not working. I forgot to report that. The kitchen has most items you’ll need. The stove eyes are all downhill… interesting to cook on. Plenty of soap, detergent for dishwasher , bath towels, and paper towels, to etc. You are between the two best spots for organic produce and baked bread. Both a short distance. The home is right on the road. The bedrooms are right next to it. We enjoyed our stay for value and location.
