This is a large two bedroom rental with a nice living room, large kitchenette, and a good bathroom with a walk-in shower. Obviously a recent remodel and very nicely done. This place has a nice air to it. The walls are the original brick, and they've been painted white, which is beautiful. Nice job on the crown and base molding. Although this is described as a basement space, there are windows which are operable, so there is plenty of natural light and good air. Comfortable beds, plenty of blankets and towels. Cellular shades over the bedroom windows. The TV in the living room has Netflix, Prime, and HBO, and possibly other channels. Parking is on the street, and I had no problem finding a good spot essentially right in front of the property. Private entry and exit. I never saw the owner; the communications on how to get in where very clear. Right out the door and walk a few yards and you are on Colfax, which has lots of restaurants and bars to choose from on a walk, and also the Bluebird Theater is very close. I would definitely stay here again. There were occasionally some bumping, banging noises coming from the floor above, but I could only hear it when I was in the living room, and it was only for very short periods. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, once in the door there is a fairly steep set of stairs to come down. No problem at all, but if there is a disabled person in your party that can't handle a few steep steps, you might want to consider that. All in all, bravo

We we very happy with our stay here as it was very conveniently located for the Denver Museum, Denver Zoo, Tattered Cover Bookstore! …and a very nice little bakery on the corner! Many dining options nearby, as well as music and cool little shops! Our host John, made accessing and leaving the property very easy and simple.

Nice place to stay just off Colfax. Comfortable and the owners were great. We had a car so parking was an issue since it is a busy area and my mom could not walk far. Other than that, I recommend!!

This is the perfect spot for what he needed. My son and I attended the Denver Film Festival at the SIE Center and this home was so close that we could walk there in less than 2 minutes. It's in walking distance of several restaurants, a great bookstore and record shop, and City Park with the Denver Zoo. Everything was in great shape, very clean, very simple. The kitchen is limited (which was completely fine with us), there is a kettle and a microwave, a toaster, dishes, knives, and a French press. This would be a fantastic place for a solo writing retreat. It's very close to the bustle of downtown if you feel like being out in it, but the home itself is very quiet and tucked away.Highly recommended.

Amazing location. We used this as our home base and traveled to the zoo, museums and went to some amazing restaurants. The farmers market is right outside and the bookstore across the street is impressive. John was very responsive to any inquiries. The apartment is in the basement of the house so you can hear walking upstairs but it is not bothersome. We would definitely stay again for the proximity to so much of Denver.

Loved that the Farmers Market was across the street. I met a high school friend at Botanic Gardens and could easily walk. We walked to the bakery on the corner in the morning. We checked out late, because I was confused and thought we were booked for another night; the owner was great and said we could book another night, but we didn’t end up needing to. The only amenity we would have liked was a stove top or hot plate to create something warm to eat during the rainy weather. Loved all the marigolds planted out front.Owner was super responsive regarding all communication.

We enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable and inviting apartment. John responded quickly to all my questions. We enjoyed the neighborhood and loved that our favorite restaurant in Denver was within walking distance. We lucked out and got parking in front of the house both nights. :) Would definitely stay here again.

My friend and I visited for the weekend and found the location super great. We walked to the botanical gardens and were in easy walking distance of the bus (super easy to figure out), Tattered Cover Bookstore, and lots of eatery options. My friend is fully blind, and the layout of the flat was easy for her to navigate and find her way about — though we did have to move the mini bar set up to avoid bumping into it. There’s quite a bit of space to move around, and the rooms were great! Loved the brick. Access to the flat was super easy with the code, and while the stairs were a bit precarious with luggage, they were fine to navigate after that. If you’ve gone up and down twisty staircases in Europe, you’ll be fine. The flat was stocked with all the basics, though we didn’t really use anything. I was SO happy to see upright fans in each room as well as luggage racks. I did yoga a few mornings in the kitchen, so there is some nice space to move and stretch a bit. My only suggestion would be a box or two of Kleenex! And I found some big bugs about a few mornings, but it’s a basement flat, and I wasn’t too fussed. Just wanted to mention it.

Highly recommend. The neighborhood is nice. Lots of restaurants within walking distance for breakfast/lunch/dinner variety. Very close to City Park (Museum of Nature and Science, Denver Zoo, playground, lots of walking trails). The apartment is in the basement and it was very cute. The steps down were a little steep and my husband (6'3) had to duck to keep from knocking his head, but that's to be expected in an older home. Our kids appreciated the games that were supplied. Overall very much liked the property and the owner - very accommodating and answered questions quickly.

This is a fantastic renovated basement apartment in a century home. The exposed brick and rock was gorgeous. While there was no A/C, it stayed cool during the day (even in 100 decree weather). The owner responded quickly to questions, and the checking in and out was as easy and smooth as it could have been. Will stay again.

What a great place in the lower level of a house in the City Park area of Denver. I was familiar with the area based on family and friends nearby, and this space was perfect. The amount of space and the way it was simply furnished and well-equipped was an excellent way to spend a week without really needing additional amenities. Can't thank the hosts enough for having a comfortable place to come back to each day after visiting and venturing around.
