Amagansett, New York
Sunny 2-story, 1901 farmhouse with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with an extension for a large open sitting room, dining room and well-equipped kitchen that leads onto a patio and private garden with loungers. Three bedrooms have Queen or Full sized bed. The fourth smaller bedroom has a single bed and is often used as an office.
The house is a walk to the beach and the train, and close to all that Amagansett village has to offer.
If you really need to take some time away from the ‘rustle & bustle’ of city life, you are reading the right review. The cottage reminds me of my childhood home living on a farm in the Northeast. The architecture, floorplan and furnishings are all frozen in time, an ideal place refresh. The surroundings filled with trees with plenty of privacy with many sounds of nature. You will hear birds humming in the morning, followed by a visit from a the local dear in the afternoon and close the day with a almost absolute silence. The owner is extremely kind and responsive and appreciates our need for privacy. And willing to give good references for places to see and eat. In terms of places, a short 7min walk to the beach for a casual stroll with slippers in-hand or an 8min walk to the local market for the needs for the week. If you want a un-stressed experience of happenings (film festival, boutique shopping, galleries) of the Hamptons a brief 5 min drive to the center of culture on Long Island.
Well-appointed house within walking distance to beautiful beach and close to all the Hamptons has to offer.
A third summer in the farmhouse is on the books! This is a great house for anyone who wants to enjoy all that Amagansett has to offer. It is located right on the highway, allowing for a 15 minute walk to the beach but also easy access to shopping and dining, as well as Montauk night life. Don't forget to check out Vicki's Veggies, Amber Waves Farm, Jacks Stir Brew and Bostwicks!
My husband and I have been renting Charlotte’s lovely farm house for the past 4 years, and we LOVE it! The house is decorated with taste and simplicity, and the many windows and skylights fill the downstairs with light and warmth in the winter months (when we are in residence). My husband and I both love to cook, so a well-appointed kitchen is important. The farm house kitchen is very well supplied, including two sets of lovely dishes and wine and champagne glasses. All this AND it’s just an easy 10-minute walk to the beach. For us, it has been the perfect weekend getaway…highly recommend it.
