A lovely Perigordian style Farmhouse, nestled on the edge of a beautiful village with a local shop and popular restaurant on the borders of the Dordogne and Lot in the Perigord Noir region. Set in 3 acres of well maintained garden with a Private Pool [heated during late Spring and early Autumn], Games Barn which includes Gym facilities. Our home offers far reaching views of the beautiful local countryside,

Having spent many family holidays in French rental properties over the years,we have tried to provide all of the things that we would look for in a home from home for families or groups of people, looking to sample the delights of the area whilst enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the picturesque property and village.
With plenty of options for outdoor or indoor dining, pool loungers for everyone and inflatables for children, we have tried to think of it all.
Considered to be one of the most attractive properties in the village with commanding views, Bataille was completely renovated in 2013.

A warm and homely welcome awaits you as soon as you turn into the tree lined driveway. A short flight of steps leads to a stone floored bright hallway leading to a well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room with everything you need to enjoy home cooking for up to 12 people. Enjoy breakfast or an evening drink on the balcony overlooking the generous gardens and far reaching views over the valley, listening to the sounds of owls and the chiming of the local church bells as you watch the deer and local wildlife. On the same floor you will find a beautifully wood floored living room, complete with TV, log burner for winter visits and seating for 10 and views over the garden.
A wooden staircase leads up to two very large double bedrooms with additional sofa bed and ample wardrobe space, sharing a bathroom with shower and WC.
Meanwhile, stairs lead down to the sanctuary of the beautifully cool and spacious master bedroom, with King-size bed, en-suite bathroom and separate shower. French doors lead to the garden.
An inner hallway with a library and doors leading to a further WC and large utility room providing useful laundry facilities.
A few steps down from the entrance hallway leads to an internal self-contained gite, with double bedroom, king size bed, en-suite shower room and kitchen/5th bedroom with sofabed.
Further dining space awaits in the beautiful and bright atrium from which double doors lead to the patio and garden, with further outside dining plus a kitchen d’ete with pizza oven, log fire, fridge and covered dining for 12, overlooking the beautiful gardens and pool.
Surrounding the un-overlooked and tranquil 12x5 meter heated pool are 10 sun loungers and umbrellas set out in spacious patio area.
The grounds are expansive with rambling roses, places for hide and seek and another barn to explore at every turn.
A large open barn houses a gym for the morning workout overlooking another large play barn, where table tennis awaits and a great venue for a party!
An outside wooden staircase leads to a large studio which provides a (6th) summer bedroom with 5 single beds for additional guests or teenagers.

Absolutely loved our stay at Bataille. When we were booking our summer holiday this year we looking for somewhere to stay with flexibility of accommodation, lots of facilities, able to accommodate and entertain multiple families (including teenagers) and a village close by. We were so pleased to find the Bataille had it all and more. The icing on the cake was the village of Marminiac within a couple of mins walk with its well stocked shop and excellent restaurant. Adrian and Karen the owners were brilliant at answering our questions during the booking process and their support team in France were always on hand to help out during our stay. This property really does have it all and we would not hesitate to go back.

We had a wonderful holiday at this lovely property. It is situated in a secluded location but in close proximity to the village which has a small shop and restaurant. The large pool and games room are fabulous additions to the chateau. The property is truly stunning and spacious. It is ideally situated to access the Dordogne for kayaking and other local attractions.

The house is very inviting and well equiped with lots of games to keep everyone entertained. The pool was lovely and warm with plenty of comfortable sun beds and parasols. We really liked all the different places where you could eat meals to either be in the shade indoors or in the sunshine. The owners were very helpful and our whole stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The Lot region was ideal as there was easy access to the Dordogne and also the quiet and pretty villages south

We stayed for a week at this stunning property in a quaint village. The pool was a welcome relief from the hot weather. We used the outside terrace for all our meals and enjoyed the views across the valley. We tried many of the gorgeous restaurants in the area, plenty of markets to visit, and attractions for days out. We particularly loved hiring canoes on the Dordogne. Definitely recommend staying here for a true taste of France. We will definitely return!

We had a short stay here in August 2017. It's a very attractive house, with a large traditional kitchen and with such a variety of indoor and outdoor entertaining space, you really are spoilt for choice about where to relax and have your meals! We loved the swimming pool and the sense of peace, well away from the crowds. Very well equipped and ideal for large gatherings of family or friends, within easy walking distance of a pretty village with shop and restaurant.

We had a fantastic time at this lovely chateaux with a large heated outdoor pool. It’s within easy walking distance of a charming local village with church, shop with fresh bread, and a great restaurant. The location is good for many sightseeing trips including kayaking on the Dordogne, local markets & places of interest. Highly recommended.
