Lancaster, Pennsylvania
The 1860s Waterfall Retreat sits on a beautiful one acre lot with waterfall views & access to Flory Park via a picturesque footbridge - perfect for special pictures and memories. The park inspires you to fish Mill Creek, play in the playground, ride bikes, boat down the creek (be careful of the dam) and has a great dog-friendly trail that provides clean up stations. The 1860s Waterfall Retreat is constructed of old Lancaster brick and is located in the historic town of Fertility. Though updated, the home is best for older mature children due to unique furnishings and natural age aspects of the home's construction, but plenty of younger families have read the rules and really enjoyed the property. We have a convenient location to all things in downtown Lancaster (Route 30 & Lincoln Highway) minutes to outlets, Sight & Sound, American Music Theatre, 10 miles to Spooky Nook Sports, and located in Amish Country. The house has two separate living levels (duplex) and the old home layout with the two original front doors, transom windows and original white pine wood floors. The beautiful views of the waterfall through the massive sliding doors or from the porch are a highlight. The unique 2 unit layout was created in the early 1900s to accommodate a live in caretaker for one of the early owners of this old house. The layout provides the perfect opportunity to plan a retreat with family, friends, possibly even in laws and still have your own space to get away within the home. The bedrooms are cozy and charming, while the 3 living areas and 2 kitchens boast a very comfortable space for entertaining and socializing. The 1860s Waterfall Retreat looks forward to being your home base, as you will be able to relax on the property, explore PA Dutch Country, go antiquing, outlet shopping, wine tasting, brewery hopping, etc. and enjoy all that the property and area has to offer. Please note that the convenient location of this home is also the historical Strasburg Turnpike and still connects Lancaster to Strasburg; therefore, it is a very busy road and you are able to hear the traffic noise. If you are a light sleeper, please feel free to bring noise cancelling headphones, use a white noise app or use earplugs provided in the bathrooms. I look forward to sharing the unique history of this property with you and helping you love Lancaster as much as I do.
Enjoyed staying at the property. Centrally located to all things we wanted to do. Suzi was helpful and my family enjoyed the weekend!

We were in town for a dance competition and rented this wonderful home! The house had everything you could need and had plenty of space! The home was very clean and welcoming! The pictures do not do it justice!!! The outlets are only minutes down the road as well as grocery stores etc. The owners are super nice and we will absolutely stay at this property again!!!
The pups and whole family truly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to coming back in the future.the hosts were great, friendly & helpful as well as having beautiful rentals.
This 1860s retreat had such beautiful views, it was big enough to house my bridal party for my wedding both upstairs and downstairs and was puppy friendly for my two large boxer pups. I would reccomend to anyone who is looking. It is not far from all Amish tourist attractions.
Suzi was a great hostess. All the little extras were great and made it feel like home. Loved that we could have our fur babies with us. Would definitely consider staying there again. The property was well maintained. Loved the view in the backyard.
A beautifully restored home, a well equipped kitchen, beautiful views, and a very convenient location. The owner was very accommodating. The house does have stairs which might be a problem for some. We hope to return for another visit in the fall!
We loved our stay despite the weather (it rained the whole time). The house was lovely, the pictures don't do it justice. There was plenty of space for the entire family to spread out, and I imagine we would have loved the outdoor space if it weren't so wet outside. There is a waterfall right in the backyard! It was great that we were able to bring our dog with us. We rented both floors in order to bring accommodate our family. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here next time you pass through Lancaster.
