Durham, North Carolina
"Our historic Airbnb was once home to R.B. Fitzgerald. Yes, the Fitzgerald who's brick company built the Tobacco warehouses & much of downtown Durham. This house is said to have had guests as well known as Martin Luther King Jr.
Recently updated, this two story property still has all the character as the day Fitzgerald first built it. Enjoy a huge brick front porch, beautiful entry with an open floor plan living and dining room. The hardwood floors run throughout the house.

I was part of a group of hybrid graduate students who stayed here for an immersion week. It was perfect for us. It's a short walk to bus stops to get you to campus and the area was safe, accessible, and close to plenty of places to fulfill social and practical needs. The house was also very well stocked with needs (linens, kitchenware, etc.) We will absolutely try to stay here again for our next visit to town.
Lots of character (aka creaky stairs, uneven beautiful wood floors, large gorgeous dining table) comfy beds 2 full baths and both are upstairs Had a great stay!
We were in Durham for a graduation and the house was in a perfect location! We were literally a mile from everything! We walked to a great restaurant for dinner! And had easy access to school and events!
Overall, our stay at Brad's property was great! It's in a convenient location for accessing both downtown Durham and Duke's campus. It's spacious with 3 bedrooms upstairs (1 king & 2 queens) and an office/pull-out couch downstairs. Note that this is a split unit with a smaller rental property in the basement (they have their own entrance, but noises from downstairs can definitely be heard on the first level). The kitchen is sparsely outfitted so don't plan on doing really any cooking. Lastly, the unit was fairly clean but could use a good once over to get years of dirt and dust cleaned out.
