Greenville, South Carolina
A peaceful place that will stick with you. Directly across from Paris Mountain State Park is a driveway that's almost hidden from sight. The trees bend and hug around the entrance, creating a cozy lane as you approach the Paris Duck Farm. A small flock of ducks make their home in the front pond, where you can watch them swim to their own outdoor music.
One of two houses on a small, family-run, farm. We are so excited to share this special little spot for you to embark on all your Greenville adventures! Just a short 10-15 minute drive to Downtown.
Access to a South Carolina Park Pass is included with your stay! So you and your family can travel to any of the 47 South Carolina State Parks for free!
September and October are the most beautiful time to visit the Upstate, so come join us for the best weather and the bluest skies of the year!
ENTERTAINMENT:
You might just wish for a cozy rainy day so you can stay-in and play! With a dedicated game room – full of boardgames, an arcade machine, a dart board, and three game tables – you’ll be set for indoor fun! There are 3 TVs in the house, each with their own Sony soundbar that can be connected to your phone to enjoy your favorite music or podcasts. Indoor fire stove and outdoor fire pit mean there is always an opportunity to tell stories, roast marshmallows, or just relax listening to the crackle of the fire. A basketball net outside is set to regulation height, so be sure to bring your A-game. There are also many shelves of books for those who enjoy a quiet afternoon with a good book.
WORK SPACE:
We hope you never have to work during your stay, but if you do, we’ve got you covered with plenty of spots around the house to set-up your laptop. Free Wifi is always included. There are also FedEx and UPS business centers just 5 mins away for any printing you may need done.
A full-sized laundry room is always available to help get clothes back in shape after a day of hiking or Greenville fun.
KITCHEN:
Chefs are very welcome here! There’s nothing like a home-cooked meal on vacation, and we’ve stocked the kitchen with pots, pans, mixing bowls, and utensils to help chefs of all levels prepare their favorites. A Breville toaster oven, both a Mr. Coffee and a Keurig coffee maker, and a cozy breakfast nook make this kitchen feel like home. A large stainless steel sink and dishwasher make clean-up a breeze. Try some fresh duck eggs during your stay! They are excellent for everything, but we highly suggest making egg salad or baking your favorite sponge cake with them.
LIVING SPACE:
The rest of the living spaces have been designed so large groups and families can always find a spot for their favorite activities. Couches for movie night, large tables for games or crafts, a cozy recliner by the window for reading, and relaxing South Carolina porches are just waiting for you to create your vacation memories.
BEDROOMS:
Each of the 3 bedrooms contain comfy Zinus Green Tea foam mattresses, 600 count all-cotton sheets, and plenty of Gold Label pillows for a hotel-like experience. Black-out curtains, reading lights, and full-length mirrors add a little touch of home. There are even a few unique touches in each room to help make every member of your party feel like their spot is the best spot in the house.
OUTDOORS:
A gated driveway adds to the privacy of this secluded location. A long driveway is perfect for kids to bike or rollerskate without ever leaving the gated area. The entire property has been planted with wildflowers to create the feeling of a meadow. There is a small stream in the backyard that is home to beavers and deer. Many types of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, and other South Carolina wildlife also call the yard their home.
You may see me or my Dad caring for the ducks in the front yard from time to time, feel free to ask any questions you may have. The backyard is completely private and enclosed – you have it all to yourself! The driveway is shared, but you have your own private parking spot and turn-around area (please note, the garage is not available for use). Keep reading for more information about the ducks.

THINGS THAT MAKE THIS PLACE SPECIAL:
The ducks are definitely the heart and soul of this little farm. Muscovy ducks are quiet and personable animals, and will wag their tails when they are happy. Along the driveway to your house, you will find a pretty overlook of the ducks pond. You may find yourself wanting to pause and watch them swim and play, as you enjoy the music that is played in their yard during the day. You may even have a chance to see the little yellow ducklings bobbing around like living rubber duckies.
A very special feature of the house is the original oil paintings that have been done by local artists just for this house. We hope they add warmth and enjoyment to your stay!
The farm is only a short walk away from the entrance of Paris Mountain State Park. A map of the trails can be found inside on the wall, along with maps of Downtown Greenville, and a larger area map so you can easily plan your adventures. It’s really a wonderful location, as you can enjoy the privacy and quiet of the countryside and State Park, while being only a short 12 minute drive from Downtown Greenville’s restaurants and activities. Cherrydale is even closer, with restaurants, cinema, and shopping just 5 minutes away.
We hope you’ll come to visit soon and that you have a truly peaceful time in your duck farm hideaway here on Paris Mountain.
We recently spent 3 nights in the Delightful Duck Farm cottage. The home was very welcoming, kitchen well stocked, comfortable beds, a great host, good access to the state park and on and on. Bess was wonderful from the day I booked the reservation. She had a special Thanksgiving activity for the grandkids and a goodie basket filled with several items. We would definitely choose to stay at the Delightful Duck Farm again. Thank you Bess for making our stay extra special. Ruth G and family
Very nice property .. hostess was very accommodating— we loved the thoughtful gift basket and bonus filled dish on the side (gotta stay there to enjoy it!!… shhhh). Loved the access to the state park — would stay again …
Bess was an excellent host! The home was tasteful and welcoming, and the ambiance was peaceful and homey. Our kids loved seeing the ducks and watching them play in the pond. Bess was always available and overdid herself in making us feel welcome. We highly recommend staying here!
What a wonderful place to stay, relax and go see what Greenville has to offer. Bess had everything perfect for our families arrival. Such a beautiful home, and the children loved the duck farm. We will definitely be back. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. We are so happy to have found it!
Bess is an amazing host, with a fantastic property! No detail was left out from the welcome packet to the farewell gift, all was truly amazing! The house was perfect for us and our 5 kids, the hand drawn map in the hallway gave us tons of inspiration to plan each day. While we were there, Bess picked up a State Park Pass, which can be used at Paris Mountain (Across the road) or at any of the parks (there's a ton) within a 30 min drive. Just stay here, feed the ducks with Bess and make yourself a duck egg omelet, you won't regret it!
We spent 2 weeks at the duck farm cottage with 3 of our children in July and all of us really loved the place! The house is beautiful, looks exactly as pictured in the advertisement, very clean and taken care of! You will find everything you need in the well equipped kitchen if you want to prepare a meal, and there are 3 televisions with Roku to stream a movie if rainy outside. Bess was the best host she could be, giving us privacy but very responsive if we needed assistance! The house is literally located right at the gate of the Paris Mt State Park so if you are into hiking and outdoor activities you don’t even need a car at all! There is a duck farm on the property and Bess let our children several times to feed them with the provided duck feed pellets, needles to say they loved it! The house is conveniently located very close to any shopping and minutes away from downtown Greenville but the same time very quiet and you can enjoy your morning coffee watching the birds, deers and even the adorable groundhog that visited us every day and off course there were fireflies! Thank you so much Bess for making us feel home away from home!
Bess was absolutely wonderful! She went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing. You are a short walk to the state park. The scenery at the home is beautiful. The duck pond is very enjoyable. Overall it is a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay. We would all definitely stay there again. We were there for a baseball travel ball tournament. It rained for the first two days. We were perfectly fine inside the home because Bess ensured there were plenty of games, puzzles, books etc. to keep everyone occupied (along with solid wi-fi)! There is also a very nice extra sink to clean/soak baseball pants! I highly recommend this home. Thank you Bess for everything! You were a blessing!
